It's no big secret that New York City's mayor, Zohran Mamdani, hates America, so it stands to reason that most, if not all, of the people he brought on to work in his administration would likely share a similar mindset.
When Operation Epic Fury got underway in late February, it was not a shock to see the democratic socialist react with such outrage, proclaiming that the strikes "mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal act of war of aggression,” while adding that "bombing cities, killing civilians, opening up a new theater of war — Americans do not want this."
In April, Mamdani would reveal another reason he was against the operation: Because it was helping further expose an inconvenient truth about the Big Apple. "While this war has exacerbated a cost-of-living crisis, that is a crisis that existed from even before the time I was running for mayor, and it’s reflected in the fact that we are the most expensive city in the United States of America," he told NBC News at the time.
With all of that in mind, raise your hand if you didn't see this one coming a mile away: an official in the Mamdani administration had plans to meet with Iran's United Nations ambassador just two days ago... but got shut down by the State Department once they learned of it:
