An illegal immigrant from Mexico was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in Houston, Texas, after allegedly trying to run over agents with his vehicle.

“On July 7, 2026, at approximately 6:50 AM CT, ICE law enforcement attempted to conduct a vehicle stop as part of a targeted enforcement operation to arrest an illegal alien,” ICE stated on Tuesday.

“The driver of the vehicle, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo—an illegal alien from Mexico—attempted to evade arrest,” the spokesperson continued.

ICE added that the driver had “rammed” his car into an ICE vehicle and did not respond to verbal commands. He then “weaponized his vehicle in an attempt to run over an ICE law enforcement officer, resulting in our officer firing his weapon in self-defense.”

My wife is watching FOX news and there is a news conference democrats are holding and guess what, this is murder by ICE.  I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw democrats support law enforcement. :pondering:

Progressive politicians and advocates have reignited calls for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after an ICE agent shot and killed a man in Houston, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, on Tuesday.

Politicians like New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Representatives Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan) and Delia C. Ramirez (D-Illinois) called to abolish the agency after Salgado Araujo’s killing, which marked the 10th person shot and killed by a federal immigration agent during President Donald Trump’s second term.

“New York City stands with the Salgado family in demanding a full, independent investigation and real accountability. To the Salgado family and any immigrant family in this city living in fear: we grieve with you and we will continue to stand beside you in the pursuit of justice,” said Mamdani in a statement on Thursday. “Abolish ICE.”
 
“ICE has repeatedly lied about killing people in cold blood. His family deserves the truth, and our entire country needs ICE to be abolished,” said Tlaib.

Ramirez went one step further and called for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to be “dismantled.”

HOUSTON (AP) — A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fatally shot Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican national who lived in the U.S. for decades, as the homebuilder drove his construction crew to a Houston job site.

His death set off protests in Texas' largest city and calls from Democrats and Salgado Araujo 's family for an independent investigation. The shooting on Tuesday in a heavily Hispanic neighborhood is at least the eighth death during the Trump administration's immigration enforcement campaign.

The Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, said federal officers were looking for someone else when they attempted to stop Salgado Araujo's vehicle. DHS said Salgado Araujo rammed an ICE vehicle and that an officer opened fire in self-defense.
 
Salgado Araujo's family said he was very close to obtaining legal status in the U.S. after living in the country for 35 years, and that he knew what to do if approached by ICE officers. Ronaldo Salgado, his son, said his father may have been scared that the people in unmarked vehicles were going to steal his tools.

ICE kills an illegal trying to kill or injure them and the dems go batcrap crazy. But when an illegal kills an American not a peep is heard.  WE have a Democrat problem in this country.
