WASHINGTON – The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released the following statement condemning Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and his fellow sanctuary politicians after they granted a pardon for an illegal alien who had been convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl.

On June 10, 2026, the Minnesota Clemency Review Commission voted to grant a pardon for Tou Lue Vang, a criminal illegal alien from Laos. Vang had been convicted in 2006 of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Vang was set to be removed from the country imminently after the pardon was announced. Now, the pardon could thwart his removal from the United States. ...

As a former sex crimes investigator, I am of the opinion that child rapists deserve the death penalty.
I am also of the opinion that anyone pardoning a child rapist needs to be on death row with them.
Why aren’t Democrats flipping tables over this? Is it that odious to them to call out their own party members?
I don’t want to hear a single leftist say anything about Trump unless they’re calling this out as well.

Who Is Tou Lue Vang? Sex Abuser Facing Deportation Pardoned in Minnesota​
A Hmong immigrant scheduled for deportation following a conviction for child sexual abuse has been granted a full pardon by the Minnesota Board of Pardons. The controversial decision was criticised by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and federal immigration officials, who accuse state leadership of shielding a violent offender.

The board includes governor Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Minnesota supreme court chief justice Natalie Hudson, who voted to clear the criminal record of 42-year-old Tou Lue Vang on June 10. The decision blocked his removal from the country, which US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed was scheduled to take place just one week later.

Deportation U-turn
Federal authorities reacted with anger to the decision. They claimed it was an attempt by Democratic leadership to subvert federal immigration enforcement.

DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis condemned the decision.
