Leaving the Democrat party

Old-school Democrats are going to have to choose whether to join the Republicans, or join the radicals who have taken over their own party now.

Earick Ward | July 1, 2026

For the past few months I’ve seen bot accounts on social media labeled; Leaving MAGA.

Presumably Donald Trump voters who are unhappy with the president and his actions, either pertaining to the economy, or the Iran war. I say bot accounts, for while I accept that there are some voters that may not be in lockstep with the president on any particular issue, that they would “leave” is comical. Where would they go?

Have they suddenly become Democratic Socialists?

The question is really for “old-school” Democrats: Where will you go?

The Democrat party of JFK, Scoop Jackson, and even Bill Clinton is dead.

While their party has become more progressive over the years and some Democrats had accepted the leftward lurch, rocket fuel has now been added to their party’s radicalization. With the ascendancy of Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York City, and his two endorsed Democratic Socialist acolytes (Valdez, Chevalier) who won primaries this week in New York City, the “old-school” base of the Democrat party is out.

Free Palestine, “hate the Jews”, spread-the-wealth, eat-the-rich, destroy Western civilization is the baseline for the far-Left radical base of the party. Leftist Dan Goldman (of Trump impeachment fame (or infamy)) wasn’t spared, as he didn’t pay enough homage to the “hate the Jews” crowd. Even Hakeem Jeffries is now under threat from within the tent: “You’re next.”

Zohran Mandani, Graham Platner, Bernie Sanders, AOC, Ro Khanna, Elizabeth Warren are the Democrat [Socialist] party standard-bearers.

A reckoning is coming for Democrats, and it's a lot sooner than they think!  The Socialist looters (who only listen to themselves) are in for a surprise.  In 1972, I was amazed to see my own parents, dyed in the wool Democrats from the FDR New Deal days, get so fed up with George McGovern that they voted for Republican Richard Nixon!

It's happened before, and it can happen again.  They aren't coming because they love Donald Trump, they're being driven to our side because it's become clear the Democrats are insane.  We've known that for years over here, but the Mamdanis of their Party are waking them up over there.  They know instinctively that eating the rich will destroy everything they hold dear.

The Democrats want to kill the dream.

It will be interesting to see what the donor class does.

If the DSA candidates win their general elections, and prove they can win, Dem donors may start putting their money behind DSA candidates instead of incumbents.

Donors don't care who wins.  They just want proximity, access, and influence with those currently in power.

The Donor Class would be in the unenviable position of hoping they'll be eaten by the crocodile last.  But they never believe they'll be eaten at all...our best plan is to hasten the feasting.

I’ve been hearing about the death of one of the two political parties since after Watergate

Yet, we still have a Democrat and a Republican Party in 2026

Rush Limbaugh and such  were  predicting the end of the Democratic Party just before the 2018 midterms because of their radical positions and they were alienating mainstream voters… Lol
