Man, it’s been fun watching old-school Democrats freak out as they watch their party get taken over by extremist democratic socialists. New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (14) was perhaps the biggest early warning shot, as the DSA member managed to upset longtime incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley in the 2018 Dem primary for her seat.
Now we’ve got the far-left Zohran Mamdani as NYC Mayor, America-hating Darializa Avila Chevalier sending five-term incumbent New York Rep. Adriano Espaillat packing in their primary, along with other concerning wins, especially in the Empire State.
As Joe Cunningham wrote, Democrats like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) are now facing problems they helped create themselves "brick by leftist brick" by doubling down on radicalism at every turn.
The next generation listened — and now they’re taking things way past what old-schoolers intended. They’ve let the genie out of the bottle, and now they’re paying the price.
