Excellent.
I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

Fun Fact:  Morton built a museum near me that has a wall made out of salt.

It sits over a salt dome big enough to supply the world's salt for centuries

I wish I lacked common sense,  Prickster seems so happy to speak with such a lack of knowledge.
You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

Well... Sorta...

Overland Park is a suburb of Chicago, so...

They shoulda moved the whole works out into the southern Rockies, and planted it on top of a salt mine. That's unlimited product, right underneath, and way cheaper labor to boot... But still accessible to modern transportation in its full myriad...

That's all a no-brainer. DUH.

I thought it was Overland Park, Kansas - a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri.

No, it isn't. But there is salt underneath those plains. Everything you wanted to know about salt mining in Kansas but were afraid to ask: https://www.kgs.ku.edu/Publications/Bulletins/214/03_salt.html

Thanks for that... Wouldn't know otherwise. Our salt comes from Redmond Utah. 😊

Ours used to come from below our feet. (Prairie Evaporite) The salt company that solution mined it had a problem, though. the cavern was getting large, so they drilled a bunch of holes looking for a suitable location to set up solution mining anew, and doggone it, they kept finding oil. While the plant was being remediated (asbestos removal), someone knuckleheads set it on fire...and that was that.  Between the Charles Formation and the Prairie Evaporite here, there's some 600+ feet of salt, and those are just the major beds.
So, yes, I believe in climate change, but that stuff was laid down long before people were knocking around these parts. The Michigan Basin is full of it, too, and there's always Utah's Great salt lake and the associated salt flats (took a nap there many moons ago, just pulled over and crashed in the van).
