Minnesota: Public school district erases Christmas and Easter holidays, adds Eid al-Adha

Some residents may be fuming, as the headline below says, but many more are thrilled. Mass Somali Muslim migration has altered the demographics of Minnesota forever. The Rochester Public School district is merely recognizing the new realities, and bowing to the fact that Muslim students weren’t coming to school on Eid al-Adha anyway. This is just a symptom of a much larger problem that no one wants to address, and most still dismiss as a “conspiracy theory,” and that problem is Islamization, the Islamization of Minnesota and, eventually, the U.S. as a whole.

Minnesota residents fume after Eid added to official school calendar as Christmas, Easter holidays are erased, replaced with winter, spring breaks

Quote:
Rochester Public Schools in Minnesota added the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha to its 2027 to 2028 calendar. The move, which was approved in a 4-1 vote, was justified by Superintendent Kent Pekel due to the number of absences on Eid al-Adha.

Someone should bring suit; recognizing a particular religious holiday as such, without recognizing other religions' holidays as such is viewpoint discrimination and unconstitutional.

I don't know the specifics of these demographics, only that Minneapolis is accused of being massively Somali (my aunt's dear mother was my first knowledge that any "do-gooder" Christian doormatting was going on there) and thus Moslem.

If it's massively Moslem, we shouldn't be surprised if Christians (or CINO) are at minimum including staff, and not causing absences.  I'm OK with this in principle.  Which is one of the reasons we opposed adding Moslem (and likely should have, Jewish) holidays as off-days from school - the reason had been, there simply were too many people being absent.  NOT to "honor" the holiday.

But does it upset me that Moslems are getting to that point?  Yes.

See my comment.  This isn't really true - it's about expediency, at least in the past.

We can't keep taking off for every damned holiday even if the pop is overwhelming.  We'd never get anything done.

So get rid of all holidays.

So get rid of all holidays.

Again, it was more about convenience.  If people wouldn’t show up en masse, it was pointless nd waste of money and the others effort.  Hence, holidays were declared off.  Originally.  Then came the stupid holidays that no one would be absent for, such as communist Labor Day, or MLK day, and yes, the other days we honestly don’t skip out for like Memorial.  But at first it was mostly, no one will come to work or school.

So get rid of all holidays.  Give each person a personal allowance of days off that they can claim as they want to.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.

Somehow, the ""Personal Day off Sale" is unlikely to fly with marketing.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
