Can anyone know what Trump’s Iran strategy is? Not likely

Talking heads howling about the latest Iran memorandum don't know what they are talking about.

Patricia McCarthy | June 21, 2026

The media -- digital, cable, and network -- are saturated with all manner of propaganda, opinions, and analyses of Trump’s MoU with Iran.

Our Democrats cannot wait to appear on any show that will have them expound on how Iran is so much stronger now than it was before the war, which is comical on its face.

They know better, but think we are all morons.

Iran has been stripped of its navy, air force, weapons manufacturing, nuclear program, etc.

But without a hint of embarrassment, certain Dems (Elizabeth Warren, Mark Warner, Ro Khanna, etc.)  assert that Iran has “won” the war and we have lost, that Trump has “surrendered.”

That is how removed from the truth the Trump-hating Democrats are today.

This initial offering, this MoU, as we should all remember, is only a “memorandum of understanding.”

Not one bit of it has been put into place.  It is not likely any of it will be unless Iran agrees to play ball.

The termagants and carpers who harangue us from our televisions and screens of every device are hoping for Trump’s defeat and Iran’s victory!

Yes, true -- however, most of us are basing our disappointment because of Iran's past track record for lying and non-compliance of any agreement.
Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

I'm getting pretty tired of the Iran war running thread.  You can't swing a dead cat around there without hitting a bunch of posts about how we're losing/have lost to goat herders who have no navy, air force or air defenses.  Or that Trump will resign, Democrats are going to take both Houses of Congress in November and Kamala Harris will be President in 2029 because Vance is committing Seppaku.

All because of how Trump is waging the war, even though nobody has a clear picture of what Trump is actually doing.  In the absence of said clear picture, it's all pure speculation by friends who want to look prescient and future-seeing.

I'm sick and tired of it!  Rant off.
I don’t owe tolerance to people who disagree with my existence.
I will NOT comply.

  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
He knows Americans don't want boots on the ground. He has a 1 seat majority in the House and a hostile RINO contingent in the Senate.

I imagine he's gambling that the election will swing his way and he'll have more room to maneuver, but really I'm not sure. All I can say is that it's probably going to be rope-a-dope till then.
