National Guard troops were not deterring them. I have learned to never doubt the tenacity of a deranged dedicated fanatic. I fear the only thing that will deter them would be a bullet.

U.S. Park Police have released video and photos asking the public to identify an individual seen briefly reaching into the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on June 19. They’re investigating it as destruction of government property after major damage was found in the new sealant.

EXCLUSIVE: Community members have come forward to raise concerns that the reported BROTHER of David Hearn - the US Olympian arrested for vandalizing the reflecting pool - may have been a part of the plot.

Bill Hearn, from East Granby, CT, who is reportedly unemployed, was elected as the Planning and Zoning Commission Alternate despite having allegedly concealed from voters that he had previously been arrested for criminal assault, had judgements against him and his previous business, and was hit with foreclosure proceedings.

Hearn, who spends his days fire-posting anti-Trump rhetoric on community pages - including attacks on the president about the reflecting pool, is a far-left activist. 

He now seems extremely concerned that there might have been eyewitness video and photos during the arrest of his reported brother.  He's even promoting a crowdfunding campaign to cover jail costs.

Community members are now calling for the FBI – Federal Bureau of InvestigationI to investigate whether Hearn had involvement in the alleged vandalism.

7 arrests made in connection with Reflecting Pool vandalism

(CNN) - Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said seven people have been arrested in connection with vandalism at the Reflecting Pool.

Burgum said Saturday in an interview with Fox News that there have been 18 police reports and other citations related to vandalism.

In one instance, a top National Park Service official said the liner of the pool had been cut with a sharp knife or razor, causing damage to the foam sealant.

Burgum did not say whether charges had been filed against those arrested, but he said they would be prosecuted.


A fence went up in recent days around the Reflecting Pool amid reports of vandalism.
