A new book claims Vice President JD Vance pushed to enlist Tucker Carlson in an effort to clear President Donald Trump of any ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

The New York Times published a report from Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan that was detailed in a new book titled “Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump,” due out this month. The excerpts revealed details of a July 2025 meeting of top administration officials gathered in the Situation Room to discuss a strategy to deal with the fallout of the release of the Epstein files and Vance’s suggestion that Carlson interview Epstein co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell.

“This is a huge problem,” Vance reportedly said, according to  The Times. “Arrayed around him were the White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles; the White House counsel, David Warrington; the press secretary, Karoline Leavitt; the deputy chief of staff, Taylor Budowich; the communications director, Steven Cheung; the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche; the associate attorney general, Stanley Woodward Jr.; and the deputy chief of staff, James Blair. Attorney General Pam Bondi and the F.B.I. director, Kash Patel, joined on speakerphone.”

Agreed, but Carlson still seemed relatively sane last summer. He really went off the deep end after Charlie Kirk's murder in September, when he and Candace Owens went totally cuckoo.

At the same time, consider who wrote these "revelations": Maggie Haberman (CNN contributor, NYT correspondent) and Jonathan Swan (formerly of Axios, currently with NYT), both with extremely anti-Trump track records.

Not saying there's not a shred of truth to it, but I'd wouldn't take it at face value.

This is a nonstory. White House officials continually enlist media of all stripes for various PR purposes. It's business as usual, made to appear shady because it involves the new MAGA bogeyman Tucker Carlson. The story is the MSM trying to trigger Trump supporters and tarnish Vance. It's nothing. Less than nothing.
