The Trial of Big Pharma, Part 1

The Case Against It

The Last Wire

The opening arguments are over. The evidence now takes the stand.

Part 1 of The Trial of Big Pharma begins the structured examination of one of the most powerful industries in modern history. It traces how a system built to heal evolved into a global network of influence, profit, regulation, and dependency.

This is not a simple accusation. It is a case study in modern power.

Across hospitals, boardrooms, and regulatory agencies, medicine and money became tightly interwoven. The result is a system that saves lives at scale, but also raises difficult questions about incentives, transparency, and accountability.

Part 1 does not attempt to settle those questions. It establishes why they can no longer be ignored.

The central tension is simple: when healthcare becomes both a public necessity and a private enterprise, who ultimately holds the balance?

The Trial of Big Pharma... Read Part 1 at The Last Wire

Every trial begins with evidence. This is where the record starts to form.

Thank you for yet another very good primer on a very difficult subject @Luis Gonzalez

My BIG beef with big pharma is their willingness to destroy cures that won't make them any money.
Scientists, like all discoverers of truth, have always asked, "What?” “How?” “Why?” “What if?” and “Why not?” Questioning science is science.

Yes, this is shaping up to be a brilliant treatment of this subject, a trademark of @Luis Gonzalez!  Can't wait for the next installment.  The reputation of Big Pharma took a pretty big hit with their behavior during the COVID era.

That actually had an impact here at TBR!  At the time we were shopping for a new site to set up our data Server, and we were considering using Amazon Web Services.  Then, AWS announced a plan to punish their clients who allowed "COVID Disinformation."  We said "Bleep that!" so fast it would make your head swim!

I really dug into that subject, and while there’s a large amount of chatter about that in the social media/blogosphere about it, there is zero proof of anything of the sort.

The interaction between Big Pharma and government would take a whole new series to properly dissect.

Interaction between big government and ANY industry you care to name would be equally daunting. Mainly because of our Marxist income tax code.
