Thomas Massie just conceded his primary race to Trump-endorsed challenger Ed Gallrein, and his speech was a masterclass in sour grapes.

Instead of gracefully accepting the will of Kentucky voters, Massie took the stage and immediately started throwing shade. He claimed he “had to find Ed Gallrein in Tel Aviv,” implying the race was somehow rigged or foreign-influenced. He then insisted his campaign had “been honorable the whole time” and would “stay that way,” while accusing Gallrein’s side of using “a lot of dirty tricks.”

The selfish, narcissistic, grand stander Massie,  just got his ego deflated tonight.

Cheater. Sent out a message that he was “Trump endorsed” and still lost.

A friend posted on Facebook (I have not independently verified these claims): All the snipping tonight about AIPAC. The anti-AIPAC comments come from a site called Track Aipac. It is run by a women in Germany who is an avowed communist and hater of Israel.  AIPAC's lobby $ pales in comparison to money spent by Japan, Saudi Arabia, etc. but no one ever hears about the other lobby groups. 

And, speaking of Massie. Take some time to look at who his major donors are - a lot of his campaign money for several terms has come from Islamic American groups and billionaires, including Iranian-born Joe Kiani who has been a very long-time donor to Massie both personally, and through his company Masimo Corporation.. This is the same Joe Kiani who the entire Biden family spent a holiday with on his 8,000 acre Santa Ynez Ranch. See less

The lesson from this mass crash out is quite simple.

Do not pander to Libertarians, ever. These people cannot be satiated in any way and there is no point in ever trying to court them. The moment you do, they begin to act like they own you. They have no sense of courtesy, no sense of loyalty, and regularly treat their own “allies” worse than they do their stated enemies.

These people will genuinely take someone who agrees with them 80% of the time, and abuse them to no end even as they lavish praise upon someone who agrees with them just 20% of the time.

It is preferable to simply be their enemy right from the start than it is to try and win them over. Don’t give these people the option to be on your side. Force them to become Democrats like they’ve always wanted to be. They’ll destroy the Dems from within anyway because Libertarianism is an inherently anti-political ideology that has no idea how to seize power and wield it.

There are some with a libertarian-ish mindset who genuinely hate Progressive managerialism, central banking, and the Federal administrative state. These people are friends, not enemies. The problem isn’t with each and every person who may call themselves a “libertarian” or a “liberty-minded conservative”. The problem is with Libertarianism as a governing philosophy.

It is useful as an acid and little more. Libertarianism can dissolve power, but it cannot build a lasting political order.

We are entering an age where order must be reestablished. And this makes Libertarianism not only incompatible with the Right, but actually antagonistic.
