Driving the news: CIA Director John Ratcliffe traveled to Cuba on Thursday and bluntly warned officials there against engaging in hostilities. He also urged them to scrap their totalitarian government to end crippling U.S. sanctions, a CIA official told Axios.
"Director Ratcliffe made clear that Cuba can no longer serve as a platform for adversaries to advance hostile agendas in our hemisphere," that official said.
"The Western Hemisphere cannot be our adversaries' playground."

I was reading that some of the thin fiber optic lines are like 12 miles long.... It has to be almost spider web thin.

I would love to walk off up in there... Done it here, most of Alberta, and parts of inland BC... Never did make it to the Yukon or the big AK.

You can eat all of that in the lower 48. Its the catching that is fun. Besides restaurant food you don't know who caught it - which is half the culinary experience in AK. Ketchikan sucks, BTW - tourist town.

Why would any one eat branzino, a European sea bass dish, in AK. Almost sacrilege.

Jump on a Copper River seiner or gillnetter for some excitement.

Birds love it. Make great nests ... until the arty shells the forest line. Thing about "hot wire" - there are so many lines you will never figure out which one is active before the drone finds you. And they usually come down from above, so there is no line you can get before you go boom.

Me too, if I woulda had my way.  Only I know how. So 'disappear' is a good thing. 

But that particular bucket list is off the table these days. One thing I have found to be pretty important to walking off, is feet and legs that work right. So nowadays I just get to sit on the porch and look at pictures.
