Are the Attempts to Kill Trump Real?
This week, a National Public Radio (NPR) headline asserted "new poll finds a majority of Americans unsure if attempts on Trump's life were real." The article went on to disclose that "30% of Americans think at least one of those incidents was staged. Forty-five percent said each of the attempts was real." That leaves about 25% in the "unsure" category. The poll was conducted by NewsGuard/YouGov. NewsGuard has been a left-wing "fact checker" since it was founded in 2018. NPR's federal government funding was recently withdrawn for its consistent left-wing bias.
In the July 2024 attempt at a Trump campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, eight bullets were fired by Thomas Crooks toward Trump. Four individuals were hit--Trump in the ear, Corey Comperatore, an audience member, was killed and two other in the audience were seriously wounded. Crooks was killed by return fire from Secret Service Agents. In September of 2024, an armed Ryan Routh was sighted in a sniper blind awaiting Trump's appearance on his golf course and later arrested and convicted. In April of 2026, an armed Cole Tomas Allen was apprehended at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Later, a manifesto explaining his reasons for killing Trump and his cabinet members was found. There have been another dozen less widely known incidents that did or could've exposed Trump to an assassination.
Historical expert Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) pointed out that "the only other world leader known to have survived as many so-called assassination attempts as Trump was Hitler. Both of these men were or are enemies of democracy. So we shouldn't be surprised that people would want to kill them. OR did both of them fake these attempts to divert attention from their evil schemes? I'd have to say that Trump dodging a bullet was less dramatic than Hitler surviving a bomb smuggled into his conference room during World War Eleven."
Death Row Inmates Watching Porn
In California, 90,000 prisoners have been issued computer tablets so they can connect with the outside world. While the tablets are free, usage fees may be charged to inmates. Text messages are five cents each. Video calls are 16 cents per minute. Movie rentals are $9 each and must be viewed within 48 hours. Inmate Grace Coleman complained "we can't afford to pay these normal world prices."
State Sen. Josh Becker (D-13th district) agrees and says "it's the injustice of the whole thing. And not only injustice, but also the illogical nature of charging in a world where telecommunications costs are moving closer to free. I consider it unconstitutional cruel and unusual punishment."
Inmate Robert Maury, a serial rapist and murderer, boasts that "I use my tablet to view porn and exchange nude photos and videos with my fans. I received a topless photo from a 22 year-old German psychology student who wanted to do a class project on me. I flirted with her for a while, but I lost interest. I mean, I'm on death row. I can't have any serious relationships with anyone because I'll never get out of here alive."
Inmate Nathaniel Ray Diaz has used his tablet to make calls to a girl he was accused of sexually abusing and threatened her with a gun if she didn't send him sexually explicit images. Eventually he received the photos via a third party.
California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDRC) spokesperson Indira Poon called the claims that inmates were using the tablets to view porn or send threatening messages "a hoax. They have received strict orders not to do this and are at risk of losing these privileges if they do. They are under constant surveillance and have no opportunity to evade the rules. The whole point of this program is to help prepare these inmates for their eventual release when Gov. Newsom pardons them before he leaves office."
Douglas Eckenrod, retired Deputy Director for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Division of Adult Parole Operations, expressed skepticism about the tablet program, saying "the current CDRC has created a pathway for criminals to reach out and groom folks. There are going to be victims that didn't need to have been victims because of these decisions."
Photo of Trump in China Stirs Controversy
Recently published photos of President Trump sharing a toast during a formal dinner on his visit to China were cited as "additional evidence for impeaching him" by Rep. John Larson (D-Conn). "I've already filed articles of impeachment. Donald Trump has blown past every requirement to be removed from office. And it's getting worse. People across my district know he is unfit to lead and are calling for impeachment. Now that he has demonstrated that his claim that he never touches alcohol is a bare-faced lie it's time the rest of Congress joins me in voting to start the process of removing him from office."
Newsweek acknowledged that "these toasts are ceremonial in nature. Non-alcoholic beverages are often substituted for dignitaries like Muslims whose religion forbids their consumption of alcohol. Our attempts to get confirmation on whether this was the case for President Trump's apparent sipping from what appeared to be a champagne glass in China have not yet been successful. This leaves the entire nation to wonder whether he has or hasn't broken his reputed vow of sobriety and may cause doubt about his fitness for office."
Larson asserted "whether he was or wasn't drinking is not important. The simulation of drinking itself is evidence of the kind of deception that makes him unfit to serve. This vindicates my action to have him impeached. This comes on top of the statement from three dozen neurologists, psychiatrists and other mental health professionals who sent a letter to Congress expressing their expert opinion that Donald J. Trump is mentally unfit to be the President of the United States, and that steps to remove him from office must be undertaken with the greatest urgency, with vital responsibilities on the shoulders of those in positions of leadership."
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt rebuffed Larson's contention, saying "the only thing that has been vindicated is that the Congressman has bolstered the evidence that he has Trump Derangement Syndrome. None of the so-called 'mental health professionals' he cites has ever personally examined the President. Their publication of their opinions on the President's fitness for office is a breach of medical ethics. Mr. Larson hates the President and is assembling a catalog of slanders to try to convince others that the President needs to be impeached. We don't see logic or reasoning at work here. We see blind hatred and political posturing."
In related news, Former CIA Director John Brennan tried to reassure MSNOW anchor Nicolle Wallace "there's still a legion of professionals in the law enforcement environment, Department of Justice, as well as the CIA and other places who are refusing to support any type of political activities on the part of the Trump administration that are inconsistent with the purposes of the permanent government and will physically take him out if they deem it necessary to protect our democracy."
Candidate Steals Campaign Mail
Max Morley, a Democrat seeking to unseat Daniel Grossberg as Kentucky State Representative in the 30th House District, was caught on a home security camera stealing a Grossberg campaign flyer from a voter's mail box. Morley admitted to "a lack of judgment. This isn't acceptable, and it's something I'm deeply sorry for. I apologize to the homeowner. I want one thing to remain clear: voters in HD 30 deserve better than their current representative, and I don't want them to be distracted from the ultimate goal of sending him home."
Louisville Democratic Party Vice Chair Rosalind Welch said "I was disturbed to witness the video of a candidate removing another candidate's information from a voter's mailbox. It's astounding to know that we have candidates running for office who ignore basic rules like don't touch voters' mailboxes or take their mail. However, we need to look past Mr. Morley's one mistake to see the importance of replacing a Republican enemy of democracy with a genuine Democrat. I urge voters confused about who to vote for to allow me to be your trusted source for changes and updates in this year's elections by visiting my website. We must challenge the status quo and elect candidates who are fighting for us all."
Grossberg pointed out that "both Morley and Welch admit that what Morley did was wrong. Stealing is wrong. Slandering opponents as enemies of democracy is wrong. These Democrats feign concern for decency, but they don't practice it. They aren't fighting for us all. They are breaking the rules to in order to win elections. They are not to be trusted with the power that being elected to office would grant them."
Labor Union Warns Voters About Pratt
Independent Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt's impressive showing in the debate with his two main rivals for the job has shaken up the race. First, in an online poll 90% of debate viewers declared Pratt the winner of the debate. Second, both the incumbent Mayor Karen Bass (Democrat) and Councilmember Nithya Raman (Socialist) have dropped out of a second scheduled debate. Third, further debates have been canceled. Fourth, Pratt's campaign ads are being called some of the best political commercials ever seen.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris announced her endorsement of Karen Bass: "Mayor Karen Bass is the leader Los Angeles needs right now. She has done what so many said couldn't be done. She is dedicating the land cleared by last year's fires to building high-density housing for the homeless. She has steadfastly opposed the deportation of our immigrant neighbors by federal goons. She favors second chances for repeat offenders. She's everything one could want for a progressive future in Los Angeles. She has my full support for re-election."
The LA County Federation of Labor has aired an attack ad warning voters that "Pratt opposes using tax funds to build housing for the homeless. Pratt thinks LA needs thousands more police officers rather than more social workers. Say no to these radical ideas. Vote to keep the steady hand of Mayor Bass on the wheel of the City's government."
Pratt countered this ad, saying "Mayor Bass was out of the country when thousands of homes--including mine--were burned down. The reservoir that was supposed to hold water to fight fires was allowed to go dry. There was no water pressure to fire hydrants. The City has been too lenient with repeat criminal offenders. Keeping the Mayor's 'steady hand on the wheel' will ensure more future disasters. We need sensible actions to protect the city's residents. I ask voters to elect me so I can take sensible actions that will benefit the working people who pay the taxes needed to support the services we all need."
Raman tried to draw a contrast between Pratt and herself, saying "unlike him, I am not a fascist. If I am elected I will ban residents from having barbecues in their backyards. These people have indoor kitchens they can use. They're not like the homeless who live outdoors and must, of necessity, do their cooking over open fires where they are camped out. Eventually, the homeless will be moved into high-density housing with indoor kitchens that the city will build for them after I'm the mayor."
