POLL: Byron Donalds maintains strong lead for governor, Moody ahead in Senate race

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds extended his strong position as the frontrunner for Florida governor, posting an 8-point lead over top Democratic contenders in a new Florida Chamber of Commerce poll that highlights the state’s continued Republican tilt.

The survey released Friday showed the Trump-endorsed congressman leading former U.S. Rep. David Jolly and Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings by identical 8-point margins in hypothetical general election matchups. Donalds also dominates the GOP primary field with 54% support, while other candidates remain in single digits, according to the poll.

In the separate U.S. Senate race, Sen. Ashley Moody held a matching 48%-40% advantage over Democrat Alex Vindman. The generic ballot test favored Republicans 49% to 42% among likely voters.

Donalds’ campaign touted the results, pointing to a robust list of high-profile endorsements that includes President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Elon Musk, Sen. Rick Scott, Charlie Kirk, the majority of Florida sheriffs, U.S. House leadership, 17 members of Florida’s congressional delegation and 75% of Florida House Republicans.

The campaign also highlighted Donalds’ record-setting $22 million fundraising haul in the first quarter.......

...............Republicans hold a substantial voter registration edge in the state, with roughly 1.5 million more GOP voters than Democrats as of May 2026.

Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
