Trying to Get Through to My Liberal Friends
On certain topics liberal ability to reason seems to break down.

I have a couple of friends who are liberals -- not those liberals who have reached what I call “the incurable terminal stage.” Nor are they the psychotics who, the moment they are exposed to facts or viewpoints different from theirs become wild-eyed and hysterical. Even so, on certain topics their ability to reason seems to break down.
A couple of months back, the issue of illegal aliens came up. They voiced the usual talking points on the topic: the aliens are just trying to build a better life, they pay taxes, only a few commit crimes, etc. They did not state they are being kidnapped and put in concentration camps. I countered with the usual arguments: they have entered the country illegally, many are engaged in horrific crimes, they are using up the welfare system, that Democrats have been employing illegal aliens to engage in fraudulent elections.
Nothing works.
So I’ve decided on a different tack. Since we were scheduled to meet in a month, I would record the number of crimes committed by illegal aliens in one month.
Even I was shocked:
A Pakistani killed an American in a head-on collision.
A Guatemalan raped an underage girl in Florida.
Another Guatemalan murdered a young teenage boy, luring him with the promise of sex.
In South Carolina, an illegal immigrant who was so drunk he could not stand was driving a vehicle and killed two black children on their bicycles.
In a San Antonio, Texas park, an illegal immigrant punched a Mexican-American mother in the face, then proceeded to bite the face of her three-year-old daughter, who also lost two teeth.
An illegal alien from El Salvador stabbed to death two women at a Wendy’s.
A Nigerian with previous arrests for assault and criminal drug possession weaponized his vehicle to attempt to hit ICE officers. A group of liberals attempted to prevent his detention.
A Venezuelan stabbed a man at a beach, then tried to slit his throat.
An illegal immigrant from India drove a truck at 124 mph, crashed into another vehicle and killed a pregnant woman.
In Virginia, an illegal immigrant engaged in a carjacking, then ran over the woman with the same vehicle.
A Honduran who was previously deported four times and had killed American citizens, killed another American in New York, an 83-year-old Air Force veteran.
In Virginia, an illegal immigrant who assaulted nine high-school kids was sentenced to only 180 days jail time by a liberal judge.
A Guatemalan with multiple counts of pedophilia in Virginia was released by the authorities in a sanctuary city, but was recaptured by ICE.
Another Guatemalan pedophile was supposed to be released by the sanctuary city of New York, but the prosecutor refused to do so and will hand the pervert over to ICE.
A convenience store owner from Haiti defrauded SNAP benefits to the tune of seven million dollars.
A Guatemalan committed murder in Virginia with a machete. Steve Descano, the anti-ICE prosecutor offered only five years. Virginia is a “sanctuary state” for criminals.
An illegal alien from Sierra Leone, having a criminal history of more than 30 arrests, including for rape, malicious wounding, assault, identity theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, assault, and pick-pocketing, stabbed to death a white girl at a Virginia bus stop. Steve Descano, the anti-ICE prosecutor, again offered only five years.
A Peruvian committed multiple rapes in San Francisco.
A Mauritanian illegally voted in seven federal elections. For Democrats, of course.
The offsprings of a couple of illegal aliens from China attempted to bomb an Air Force base in Tampa.
An Ecuadorian who entered the country illegally four times, kidnapped a little girl from a laundromat. The judge released him with an ankle monitor.
An illegal immigrant slit the throat of his newlywed wife in Dallas.
A Mexican was charged with possession of an altered VIN and a counterfeit license plate, resisting an officer without violence, and operating a vehicle without a license or insurance.
In Florida, an illegal immigrant went through a park looking for a person he wanted to stab, who successfully evaded him.
An Ecuadorian struck and killed a pedestrian with his truck in New Jersey.
A Canadian in the top-25-most-wanted international fugitive list, accused of first-degree murder, entered illegally in the U.S.
Five illegal aliens wanted for crimes committed abroad were captured in New England.
An illegal alien from Britain was caught in Las Vegas torturing animals at an animal shelter where he worked.
One case that is somewhat relevant to this whole issue and which says a lot is the case of an American citizen who claimed that ICE had detained her for two days and received a lot of publicity for it (and outrage). In reality, she spent those two days at a spa. Which is not run by ICE.
