Rep Chip Roy Unveils Bill to Make Fentanyl Dealers Eligible for Death Penalty

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) is introducing legislation that would allow prosecutors to seek the death penalty against fentanyl dealers whose drugs kill Americans, escalating Republican efforts to crack down on the deadly narcotics crisis ravaging communities across the country.

Roy’s proposal, titled the “Deal Death, Face Death Act,” would amend federal law to make capital punishment available for individuals who knowingly distribute fentanyl or fentanyl-laced drugs that result in a fatal overdose.

The legislation reflects growing frustration among conservatives over what many see as years of weak enforcement, open-border failures, and escalating cartel-driven trafficking operations that have flooded the United States with deadly synthetic opioids.
