Xavier Becerra has a very good shot at becoming the next Governor of California. Which, you have to admit, would be very California. He was widely known in the Biden administration to be horrifically incompetent, and his performance in the job confirms the impression of his colleagues, who themselves have extremely low standards.QuoteA senior Biden-Harris administration alum just KNEECAPPED Xavier Becerra after the California gubernatorial debate, saying that there is wide Cabinet Secretary-level agreement that he was "not an effective HHS Secretary."Xochitl Hinojosa, a Biden DOJ and DNC alum: "After working in Joe Biden's administration, I do not trust Xavier Becerra [to stand up to Donald Trump].Hinojosa continues: "When I saw him in the administration and I think a lot of people did and people understand this. It's he was not effective in governing. And I think that a lot of people in the Biden administration are talking about this because they realize that he was not an effective HHS Secretary. And if you ask any cabinet secretary, they would tell you the same thing. And so I think that there is a I think people recognize this and I think this is why Tom Steyer has gone to the top."...The big obstacle to Becerra's coronation after the kneecapping of Eric Swalwell, likely by a Becerra ally, is the incompetence that everyone in Washington talks about behind closed doors. He was a DEI hire in the Biden administration, and as HHS Secretary, he was widely seen as AWOL, the "silent secretary." That incompetence was on full display in his interview with KTLA, which begins with his making clear that he wanted it to be a puff piece, which he certainly did not get. The killer shot was being asked to explain the failure of HHS to protect the unaccompanied minors placed under his care.
