Well, I was thinking Trump needs to take care of Iran first, but oil and gold are certainly attractive commodities.

We can get the oil and gold with other means. I'm pretty sure we are right now. I'm not sure we need to tie their tail on our kite at this point. Political unrest, etc. Of course AK and HI became states but from what I can tell there wasn't a huge amount of upheaval at the time in their societies. And they were more or less free standing and not imbedded, unlike Venezuela.

You are right and I agree, but that's not going to stop Trump from doing what he has his mind set on.  I'm not thrilled with the idea of Venezuelans coming here to live as I doubt they will want to assimilate, nor do we need the gangbangers here.

Trump is seeing dollar signs. I'm seeing a possible real headache especially in the beginning.
