Trump endorses gas tax suspension amid cost spike

President Donald Trump says he supports temporarily suspending the federal gas tax as the conflict with Iran continues to drive prices up.

Trump made the endorsement in an interview with CBS News on Monday. Pausing the gas tax would require an act of Congress.

"I think it's a great idea," Trump said. "Yup, we're going to take off the gas tax for a period of time, and when gas goes down, we'll let it phase back in."

According to AAA, gas prices hit a high of over $4.52 on Sunday.

... or, using the Defense Production Act to greenlight and fast track energy infrastructure projects to improve the productivity and the efficiencies of America's domestic energy industry.

It didn't take Biden long to put Wind Farms off Nantucket.  Why should it take a long time to build other energy infrastructure?

Trump shouldn't let this crisis opportunity go to waste.

Fed gas tax is what...18 cents.  To be effective state Govs should suspend their tax.  Say like Gov Jelly Belly Prickster of IL, where the gas tax is like 50 cents.

All of this complaining about money is unpatriotic, and frankly it borders on antisemitism.  Trump said he thought oil would go to $200-300 a barrel, but he did it anyway.  Otherwise Iran would have nuked the entire planet by now.
