Virginia Democrats erupted in outrage after the FBI raided the offices of powerful state Sen. L. Louise Lucas (D-VA) this week, immediately accusing President Donald Trump’s administration of political retaliation.
However, multiple reports indicate that the federal investigation began under former President Joe Biden.
Federal agents executed search warrants on Wednesday at both Lucas’ Portsmouth office and a cannabis dispensary tied to the longtime Democratic power broker as part of an ongoing criminal investigation reportedly centered on possible financial crimes, corruption, and bribery allegations.
