President Donald Trump's endorsement of eight Republican Indiana state Senate candidates helped at least five challengers defeat the incumbents after the incumbents helped block a redistricting effort in the state.
Trump, in February, issued endorsements of six of the eight challengers, backing Blake Fiechter, Tracey Powell, Paula Copenhaver, Brenda Wilson, Michelle Davis, and Jeff Ellington.
Wilson, who ran against Indiana state Sen. Greg Goode, is the only Trump-backed candidate to lose her race. Copenhaver's race as of Tuesday morning was still too close to call.
