🚨🚨BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE: Secret Service Uniformed Division officers shot a man who they thought might have a gun at the @WhiteHouse this afternoon before President Trump's press conference.
When the @SecretService officers confronted the man, it went sideways, and they ended up shooting him, sources in the Secret Service community told @RCPolitics.
All Secret Service officers are safe -- but the man is down and in custody.
Update: I'm told the man did have a gun.

More details: The suspect, who I'm told was armed, is now recovering at George Washington Hospital from wound(s) inflicted by Secret Service gunfire.
The Secret Service has recovered the suspect's firearm.
No Uniformed Division officers were shot or hurt, sources in the Secret Service community tell @RCPolitics.

🚨🚨UPDATE: A juvenile bystander was shot but not critically injured in an exchange between Secret Service officers and an armed man near the White House complex Monday afternoon, according to the Secret Service.

At least one Secret Service Uniformed Division officer shot and apprehended the suspect Monday afternoon before President Trump’s press conference, Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn confirmed.

The suspect and the juvenile are now at George Washington Hospital.  No Uniformed Division officers were short or hurt. Quinn did not say whether the juvenile was a boy or a girl and what type of injuries the child suffered.

“I can tell you that at least one bystander — we believe only one — was hit by the suspect,” Quinn told reporters at press conference late Monday afternoon. “That individual is a juvenile, did not sustain any life-threatening injuries, and is also receiving treatment at the hospital.”

Quinn said an investigation is underway, but so far the agency could not say whether the child was hit by the suspect or the Secret Service officer, although he noted that “everything I’ve seen leads me to believe the juvenile was struck by the suspect.”

The deputy director also noted that Vice President J.D. Vance’s motorcade had driven through this area “not long” before the shooting, though the suspect didn’t appear to have attacked or targeted the motorcade.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. Monday, Secret Service patrols spotted a suspicious individual who appeared to have a gun. Patrol officers located and confronted him, and the suspect fled briefly on foot then withdrew a firearm and fired in the direction of the Secret Service agents and officers, Quinn said.

At least one Secret Service officer then opened fire on the suspect, shot and apprehended him.

“These are trained surveillance detection personnel looking every day for just that,” Quinn said. “They observed a visual print of a firearm not far from the White House complex.”

The Secret Service has recovered the suspect’s firearm.

Well, he's not dead, so the SS will probably find out, but we won't be told.  So far, no MSM reporting on it, not even Fox.

This happened after Vance's motorcade went through.

Prayers up for 47 and Vance.  Both are targets.  As time goes on, I think Vance will become more of a target.  He's likely to be the GOP nominee -- and he could serve for the next 8 years.  Trump only has a couple of years left to his term.

Report: White House on Lockdown Due to Nearby Shooting



The White House went on lockdown on Monday after a shooting occurred nearby, according to multiple reports.

Gunshots were reportedly fired “near” the White House “at 15th and Independence,” James Rosen, Chief Washington correspondent for Newsmax, wrote in a post on X. The United States Secret Service was reported to be “locking down press office and other locations.”

Rosen later shared in a separate post that the emergency was over.

Megan Cassella, a Washington correspondent for CNBC, shared in a post on X that the U.S. Secret Service had evacuated the press from their “camera position at the White House north lawn.”

“We’re now gathering in the briefing room,” Cassella added. “No indication as to what’s going on.”

U.S. Secret Service officers shot an armed person Monday near the White House, according to a federal source familiar with the incident.

The shooting happened near 15th Street and Independence Avenue, a little over a half mile from the White House and close to the Washington Monument.

Secret Service Uniformed Division officers engaged the individual after the person pulled a gun, a federal source told Fox News Digital.

In a press conference, Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn said that a juvenile bystander was struck by the suspect. The child who was struck did not sustain any life-threatening injuries, but is receiving treatment at the hospital, Quinn said.

Quinn said the confrontation began after trained surveillance personnel spotted a "visual print" of a weapon.

"My understanding is they observed a print," Quinn said. "These are trained surveillance detection personnel out there looking every day to look for just that... and they observed a visual print of a firearm."

"Upon making contact, that individual fled briefly on foot, withdrew a firearm and fired in the direction of our agents and officers," Quinn said. "They returned fire and engaged."

Not sure one is always given a clear shot on a suspect running away in a crowd. Crowds present problems that can give shooters advantages over the SS crew.

Also not sure the agent did the hit on the kid, the assassin also took a shot and could of hit the kid.

Two of the reports I saw said the kid was hit by the suspect, but i think we need to wait for more information before crucifying anyone.
