Via Committee to Unleash Prosperity:

Wow!! This chart from the weekend WSJ blew us away.

American exports of natural gas (LNG) have risen from 2% of all European imports 10 years ago to 62% today. We’ve largely and nearly completely replaced Russia as Europe’s energy source now that they’ve finally figured out that green energy doesn’t work.

Notice also that the President who deserves almost all of the credit is Trump. There was only a slight rise in LNG exports under Biden and the LNG exports crashed in Biden’s first year in office when he declared war on American energy.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
In January of 2024 Biden paused approvals of pending and future applications for Natural Gas export facility projects.

I doubt he did this to hurt Europe. It's more likely the attack was aimed toward US domestic oil production, because limiting the flaring of Natural Gas at the wellhead, and limiting the export of Natural Gas (along with banning gas appliances in places like NYC) would force oil companies to slow oil production to avoid producing more gas than they could capture and market.

Thankfully, more sane heads have prevailed.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
