Did the Democrat elite just get a reality check on their assassination fantasies?

It’s all fun and games until you’re trapped in the room that’s targeted. And that, of course, is also when you learn that all cops are NOT b*****ds.

Andrea Widburg | April 26, 2026

Last night, the third foiled assassination attempt against President Trump was, thankfully, foiled. I wonder if their proximity to danger (and it’s clear that many journalists and political types in attendance thought that their demise was imminent) helped these elite, effete types realize that their overheated fantasies and rhetoric have real-world consequences that could affect them.

Just because I so much appreciate the incredibly swift reaction of the agent who seems to have been shot, here’s the attempted assassin trying to speed his way through security:

After the dust settled a bit, the president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, Weijia Jiang, gave two statements. In both, she comported herself with dignity, but she was obviously shaken. After all, because she sat immediately next to Trump, she could have been the next Corey Comperatore.

My thought was less dignified. Jiang’s history as a White House correspondent for CBS shows that she’s long been hostile to Trump. Therefore, I consider her part of the “stochastic terrorism” that has resulted in three assassination attempts against Trump.

“Stochastic terrorism”? Huh?

This is a leftist academic phrase that appeared when conservatives spoke out against drag queens in schools and other trans madness. If a leftist accuses you of “stochastic terrorism,” he means you’re creating an intellectual environment in which you don’t have to pull the trigger, but you’ve primed someone else to do so.

In other words, you’re Charles Manson, rousing his followers into a murderous frenzy. Of course, as with all things leftist, the concept of stochastic terrorism is pure projection. The elites in the Democrat party, both in the media and the politicians, have been seriously guilty of stochastic terrorism when it comes to Trump.

What I wondered after last night’s events is whether Democrats’ proximity to the gun has helped them understand that assassination is not just a quick, easy way to get rid of a president they hate. It is, instead, an act of bloody violence with terrible downstream consequences.

I'm seeing the Secret Service taking a lot of crap this morning because the shooter got through the front door, but not much past that.  The Washington Hilton, where the dinner was being held, is not built to be locked down hard, which makes Trump's ballroom look like a better and better idea.

Seems to me that the security actually worked in thwarting this Democrat would-be assassin, with the agent who got hit even quickly recovering and helping take the perp down.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't?

I agree.  The pointy headed press core was more worried about their fat asses, after the fact, than how the SS handled the presidents security.

If last night was a "reality check," we can count on the elite press to ignore it.  They'll revert to the old, comfortable ways, if they haven't already.  Temu O'Bastard will be trotting out the "this is war" tropes come Monday.

Democrats are too wedded to the notion that all conservatives must die. The only regret they have this morning is their attempt to rub out Trump was foiled again.

I don't know about the Democrat elite, but there are plenty of Democrats on social media crying because the attempt was not successful.

The owner of the Minocqua Brewing Company in WI who mourned the shooter missing is running as a Democrat for State Assmebly. He also just pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct charges for harassing a local business owner

About 4 years ago about 90% of that MSM scum was crowing about BLM and advocating defunding the police.

Not just Trump, but anyone who disagrees with them. Anyone.

Not only do these people manufacture their own reality, they use that delusional space to justify violent ideation and even action against those they perceive as "enemies".

We have some serious mental health problems in America, with roots in playing pattycake with the sightly delusional instead of nipping their fantasies in the bud.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Cole Allen is the Dunning-Kruger Assassin.

Allen is not some random nut job from the fringes of society.  He’s a very articulate graduate of Caltech, which means he has a high degree of native intelligence.  He’s in the education profession.  He is on BlueSky.  He goes to No Kings protests.  He’s your basic rank-and-file Democrat.

But it’s that high native intellect that led him astray.

The Dunning-Kruger Effect is, at its simplest level, people thinking they know more that they do.  People who are high achievers in one area often mistakenly believe their native abilities make them experts in all areas.

So you get a super-smart guy like Allen, he excels in one narrow area, and extrapolates that excellence into thinking he knows more than he does in other areas.  He goes into Blue Sky, he goes to No Kings protests, and he is easily swayed into believing all of the insane, violent lies those sorts of intellectual cesspools foster.  All of a sudden this computer science expert is a national political policy expert too, except that latter expertise is derived from insane propaganda.  The man with the intellectual skill to write code is not smart enough to recognize when he himself has fallen prey to propaganda, so he KNOWS that Donald Trump is Hitler and must be stopped.

And when you KNOW that someone is Hitler, what’s the right thing to do?

That’s what is so scary at this very moment—the sheer number of ostensibly educated Democrats who KNOW so many things are “true" that are actually so very, very untrue.

In many ways, Cole Allen is just an average Democrat, and like most average Democrats, he fell prey to credentialism and Dunning-Kruger.  But Cole took it to the next level; let’s pray more do not.
