BAHA! CA Dems' EPIC FAIL During Debate --> WATCH 'Em Flop on 'Truck Drivers Speaking English' Question

If you're like this editor, you may not have actually remembered there was a debate last night between candidates who want to run for governor in California. In our defense, we are in Virginia and were a bit distracted and disgusted with our own state to pay attention to other disgusting Democrats.
 
That being said, when they asked the candidates (both Republican and Democrat) whether truck drivers should be required to speak English before getting a CDL, that was the moment when the Democrats really began to shine.

And we do not mean shine in a good way.

But you knew that, didn't you?

It should have been a common-sense, "Of course they need to." One need not have been a driver for very long to have seen that highway signs, especially on freeways in the large cities that are many truckers' destinations, are far more complex in vocabulary and grammatic content that just "Stop" or "Yield".

I'm kind of curious how San Jose Mayor Mahan answered the Q, if he was asked. I can't vote in San Jose mayoral elections, but Mahan, who is Lib/Prog, is a bit less isolated from daily street- and freeway-level daily realities than Steyer or Porter. I doubt that Mahan or Becerra have a chance.

Sheriff Bianco's answer could have been entertaining, since his officers are on Riverside County's streets, roads, highways, and freeways pretty much 24 x 7 x 52, and he can be pretty direct/blunt.

Porter labeled Bianco a racist for this, unsurprisingly. Becerra said he would "protect" English-illiterate drivers. Quoted in the article is this part of Bianco's response:

Bianco says that's not even close to what he's saying.

"Californians are absolutely sick and tired of our politicians making race the basis of everything. It is not, and this racial divide that they are pushing between law enforcement and the public or Democrat and Republican, absolutely has to stop."

"And I'm telling you, we are sick of it."

The article doesn't mention Mahan.
