Two days later, they had unsealed them and where back in business. They were prepared for the closures and sealing - they used surface teams to dig down and subsurface teams to dig up.

The only way to finish them is to use troops. Else they will continue to function. Same for the batteries and bunkers along the Strait.

WASHINGTON — A top Iranian navy commander claimed the Islamic Republic has deployed some of its small submarines, known as the “dolphins of the Persian Gulf,” in the Strait of Hormuz to wreak further havoc on the critical oil chokepoint, according to state media.

The goal is to establish an “invisible guardian” in the beleaguered waterway, lurk on the seabed there and potentially attack vessels attempting to pass.

Iran is known to possess at least 16 Ghadir-class midget submarines in its fleet, which are designed to operate in shallow waters, according to the International Institute for Strategic Studies.

Iran started the war with 22 of these. Their larger subs have been accounted for. They have their issues, to be sure, but have potential as ambush hunters in a near littoral/littoral environment with complex bathymetry, like the Straits of Hormuz. If they are sitting on the bottom, they can stay relatively silent, and wait for targets to ambush. Like the speedboat flotilla, they do have the potential to do some damage, and they can also lay mines if so equipped.
Find 'em, sink em, and their surface gnat navy, too.

President Donald Trump said Chinese President Xi Jinping told him China will not provide military equipment to Iran, a claim Trump described as a major development from the high-stakes talks in Beijing.

Xi “said he’s not going to give military equipment. That’s a big statement. He said that today. That’s a big statement. (He) said that strongly,” Trump said to Fox News host Sean Hannity Thursday.

The pledge, if carried out, would mark a potential win for the Trump administration as it increasingly frames Beijing not only as an economic rival, but as a key enabler of adversarial regimes. In recent months, U.S. officials have accused China of helping prop up Iran’s economy and military power through oil purchases, dual-use exports and intermediary networks.

Trump said Xi also offered to help end the conflict.

Their ships are made out of plyboard and cardboard. What I mean is that although they have very many ships, they are not designed to last in battle and they barely function.
