Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

So do I! I also happen to know him personally and can vouch for his creds.

42nd ship tied to Iran was turned around by the US Navy today.

That’s going to start hurting very soon.

BREAKING:
Internal rift deepens in Iran as two camps clash over strategy with the U.S.

• The divide: pragmatists vs hardliners
• Pragmatists, led by Parliament Speaker Qalibaf, believe Trump will not back down and push for a deal
• Hardliners, led by IRGC Commander Ahmad Vahidi, believe Iran must hold firm until Trump breaks

• Hardline options under consideration if pressure continues:

* Laying additional mines in the Strait of Hormuz
* Targeting undersea communication cables
* Striking Gulf oil infrastructure

• Despite this, Tehran is holding back for now amid fears of a strong U.S. response

🇵🇰Pakistan just opened 6 land corridors to Iran.

6 overland routes from Karachi and Gwadar straight to the Iranian border  Gabd, Taftan, multiple variants.

3rd country goods can now transit Pakistan to Iran by truck under customs oversight.

3,000+ containers were sitting stranded in Karachi, unable to sail because of Hormuz.
They now have a road.

Pakistan presents this as trade policy.

The effect is strategic: it punches a hole in the economic logic of the US naval blockade.

The blockade controls the sea not the Karakoram Highway.

Oil and bulk energy flows are still choked trucks can't replace tankers at that scale.
But machinery, consumer goods, industrial inputs, and 3rd-country cargo can now reach Iran overland.

These corridors can carry Chinese or other foreign goods into Iran under Pakistani transit rules.

Every country that trades with Iran and doesn't want to pick a side is watching.

The naval blockade is still the dominant pressure. But it just got flanked.

Not helpful, but how will the Iranians pay the Chinese for weaponry?

The only currency Iran has is crude, and that has been effectively taken away by the blockade

Iran’s $800M oil smuggling scheme uses tankers posing as Iraqi ships to dodge blockade
Windward AI says the tankers broadcast fake destination messages to Iraqi ports while covertly sailing to Iran
By Emma Bussey Fox News
Published April 29, 2026 7:59pm EDT

Sanctioned tankers disguised as Iraqi vessels are moving hundreds of millions of dollars in Iranian crude as President Donald Trump doubled down on the port blockade to squeeze Tehran’s oil lifeline, according to maritime intelligence.

Windward AI claimed Wednesday that a group of U.S.-sanctioned tankers are falsifying their location data to come off as anchored off Iraq while secretly loading Iranian oil at Iranian ports.

"Among the tankers spoofing their location in the area identified by Windward are four VLCCs (very large crude carriers): Alicia (IMO 9281695), RHN (IMO 9208215), Star Forest (9237632) and Aqua (IMO 9248473), using various flags, including fraudulent registries from Curacao and Malawi," the firm told Fox News Digital.

"For the four VLCCs, each VLCC can hold about 2 million barrels, so four of them would hold 8 million barrels worth about $800 million at $100 per barrel," Windward said.

When they are empty, returning to the Persian Gulf, sink them ... preferably in a manner that maximizes plausible deniability.

If they are not proper, legally flagged vessels, they are pirate ships that can be sunk.

Baloney, crude is only profitable via barge, ship, or pipe.

Just for S & G's I ran the numbers....  A typical crude ship is 500K bbls.  A typical rail tanker holds 714 bbls.  Based on the volume that one ship would fill roughly 700 cars....   And 700 cars, at tanker length (714 bbl vol.) would be a train roughly (again) 8 1/2 miles...  just for one ocean going tanker.

They can't even bullshit their way through their bullshit anymore.

On congressional reauthorization for Operation Epic Fury, a White House official tells FOX:

Baloney, crude is only profitable via barge, ship, or pipe.

Just for S & G's I ran the numbers....  A typical crude ship is 500K bbls.  A typical rail tanker holds 714 bbls.  Based on the volume that one ship would fill roughly 700 cars....   And 700 cars, at tanker length (714 bbl vol.) would be a train roughly (again) 8 1/2 miles...  just for one ocean going tanker.

They can't even bullshit their way through their bullshit anymore.
Yep, this is BS.

Why would Iran keep demanding they will open Hormuz if this was already happening?

Exactly.,..  And I can remember at my facility we had a problem that facilitated the need of railing out some crude C-4 by rail rather than ship.  And I very clearly remember that the rail method, product  was sold at a loss, because of rail rentals, high rail shipping charges, rail car cleanout, etc, etc.  We still did to meet contractual obligations, but honestly , unless it is a high dollar margin chemical.....   rail sucks economically for high volume commodity products.

This is not unexpected; the alliance of Russia, China, N. Korea and Iran.  They all are undermining us.  Meanwhile our allies are nowhere to be found.  Is eliminating Russia in the realm of possibilities?  Or will we also be taking on China and N. Korea if we do?

Gen. Dan Caine confirms Russian involvement in Iran war

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine told the Senate Armed Services Committee that Russian President Vladimir Putin has aided Iran’s war effort.

He declined to go into details, citing the public nature of the hearing, but said, ”There’s definitely some action there.”

Committee Chairman Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., agreed.

“There’s no question that Vladimir Putin’s Russia is taking serious action to undermine our efforts for success in Iran,” Wicker said.

Wicker's opening statement warned about the "four dictatorships" aligned, including Russia, China, Iran and North Korea.

“Xi Jinping leads not only China, but also an axis of aggressors," Wicker said. "This growing alliance cannot be denied. It includes China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.

"These four dictatorships," he continued "support each other’s aggressive endeavors. They prop each other up financially, and they scheme to undermine America’s objectives.”..........

True, but it sure might involve some reciprocity towards a shot in the arm to the Uke's war effort.  Wonder how Putin would like that?

We're set up with loading facilities and unit trains in North Dakota, but you're still looking at a maximum peak capacity of 1MM BOPD. Current 'export' rail volumes are about 200,000 BOPD. Rail is more expensive, costing about $5/bbl more than pipeline transport, but the trains go places the pipes don't, mainly smaller refineries on the coasts, and safety concerns have been raised, but vapor pressure limits and other regulations have come into play which make the cargo much less volatile.

Report: CENTCOM Seeks First‑Ever ‘Dark Eagle’ Hypersonic Missile Deployment to Counter Iran

Joshua Klein 30 Apr 2026

U.S. Central Command has reportedly requested the first-ever deployment of the Army’s “Dark Eagle” hypersonic missile to the Middle East to target Iranian ballistic missile launchers moved beyond current U.S. strike range, as President Donald Trump weighs potential next actions.

The request, first reported by Bloomberg on Wednesday, is driven by intelligence assessments that Iran, taking advantage of the ongoing ceasefire, has reportedly repositioned key ballistic missile launchers beyond the reach of existing U.S. systems, including the Army’s Precision Strike Missile, which is limited to roughly 300 miles, according to the report.

The Dark Eagle system — also known as the Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon — has a reported range of more than 1,700 miles and is designed to travel at speeds exceeding Mach 5 (five times the speed of sound) while maneuvering in flight, allowing it to evade advanced air defenses and strike high-value targets deep inside Iranian territory.

If approved, the move would mark the first deployment of the long-delayed system, which has not yet been formally declared fully operational. A defense official, however, told Fox News the system has reached initial operational capability, marking the first time the United States has a land-based hypersonic weapon available for potential use.

https://twitter.com/Osint613/status/2049760425361744212

According to reporting, U.S. Central Command on Thursday briefed President Trump on options for a “short and powerful” wave of strikes targeting Iranian infrastructure, with plans aimed at forcing Tehran back to negotiations under increased pressure.

Trump has not authorized any strikes and declined to discuss potential military operations, and no final decision has been announced.

The briefing comes as U.S. officials prepare for the possibility of renewed military action despite the ceasefire, amid indications Iran has used the pause to reposition assets and harden defenses deeper inside the country.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Thursday, Trump said Iran is “dying to make a deal,” while reiterating that any agreement must permanently bar Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. He pointed to what he described as the near-total degradation of Iran’s military capabilities and mounting economic strain, adding, “we’ll see how long they hold out.”

So .... here we have our answer....the WPA has reached its deadline.

Trump reportedly declares Iran war 'terminated' in letter to Congress

President Donald Trump said Friday that hostilities with Iran have “terminated,” citing a ceasefire and no recent exchange of fire.

“The hostilities that began on February 28, 2026, have terminated,” Trump said in a letter to congressional leaders, according to Reuters.

Under federal law, presidents have 60 days to conduct military operations without Congress before needing authorization or an extension.

Trump aims to reset war powers clock with controversial bid to bypass Congress

President Donald Trump informed Congress Friday that a ceasefire with Iran has ended hostilities and reset the clock on congressional war powers limits, but legal experts say ongoing military operations complicate that claim.

"For War Powers Resolution purposes, the hostilities that began on Saturday, February 28 have terminated," a senior administration official told Fox News Digital.

"Both parties agreed to a 2-week ceasefire on Tuesday, April 7 that has since been extended," the official went on. "There has been no exchange of fire between U.S. Armed Forces and Iran since Tuesday, April 7."

The White House formally notified Congress in a letter Friday under the War Powers Resolution that it considers hostilities to have ended following the ceasefire.

For decades, presidents of both parties have pushed the limits of the War Powers Resolution, seeking flexibility to conduct military operations without being hindered by a congressional vote.

The law requires the president to end the use of U.S. forces within 60 days of entering hostilities unless Congress authorizes the operation, with a limited extension allowed for withdrawal.

The more than two-month conflict has exposed sharply different interpretations of the law and whether the White House must seek congressional approval. Bombing ceased on April 7, but U.S. forces continue enforcing a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz — an operation widely considered an act of war.

"A ceasefire does not automatically suspend the War Powers 60-day clock," said John Bellinger, who served as legal adviser to the State Department and National Security Council under President George W. Bush.

.............Congress has periodically challenged similar interpretations in past conflicts but has rarely forced a withdrawal of U.S. forces. Courts have also largely stayed out of War Powers disputes, leaving presidents with significant latitude to define the scope of hostilities.

If Congress does not act, the administration could continue operations without new authorization.

"It’s really up to Congress, and as often as not, Congress doesn’t want to push back," Pomper said....................
