Minnesota GOP Senate candidate Michele Tafoya signaled openness to a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants when pressed on Republican amnesty legislation.

During an April 9 appearance on Will Cain’s radio show, the former sports broadcaster was asked where she stood on the DIGNIDAD (Dignity) Act — legislation backed by several Republican lawmakers, including Florida Rep. Maria Salazar and New York Rep. Mike Lawler, who insist it is not amnesty. Tafoya responded that parts of a bill could be acceptable, even if she disagrees with others. Tafoya said she would need to see the specifics on the Dignity Act, telling Cain, “A bill can be really good and you can slide in a specific I would not agree with.” She asserted that immigration is a “very nuanced problem.”


“I’ve had people come to me Will, and say, ‘What’s your number?’ And I’m like, ‘What do you mean?’ ‘Well how many have to leave and how many do you let in?’ And I said, ‘I don’t think that’s a number that I
want to set.'”

It is concerning that any pathway to citizenship for ILLEGALS is not considered amnesty.  Legislation is being backed by Republican lawmakers, including one in FL.  If this is the best that the GOP has to offer MN, and other states, what does that say about GOP candidates and the future and direction of the GOP??

What's in this amnesty for me?

Give me amnesty from paying Federal payroll taxes, and maybe we can talk.

If the Federal Government does not want to enforce their own laws, they no longer need my payroll taxes to fund Federal law enforcement bureaucracy?

I don't give Dunkin' Donuts money for a donut I'll never receive.  Why should I be compelled to let the Government confiscate payroll taxes from my paycheck to give me no Border Protetction in return?

Because they're already taking taxes from your paycheck regardless of no border protection; it's been done for decades.

My "votin' radar" goes off with anyone with a hispanic surname. Just have a hard time voting for them.

I just don't see them as having proper concern for the white folks from Europe who this country was originated for. And I don't care whether they like that opinion or not...

Why, why, WHY do we keep putting up "Republicans" with such ideas...?
