The Pope leads the Catholic church. The President leads the United States and those in the 'free' world look upon the U.S. as a beacon of light in the shadow of despair.
Big difference. The Pope should have NEVER spoken with 3 cardinals to attack Trump. That was wrong as well!

That said, the image of Trump as a divine (perhaps saintly) figure (note, no caps), is a mega troll of the Imams and Mullahs.
I take it as just another bit of wartime propaganda (for our side), but ill considered for the backlash it evokes from those of us who see him as just a man in a difficult role. Because I see the propaganda aspect, I'm not seeing so much sacrilegious intent. The Pope has his own country to run (The Vatican), and anyone who was busy blessing a block of ice and fretting over where God has set the thermostat really has lost a lot of his thunder in this, IMHO.
May Almighty God guide them both (and whoever is doing the optics for the administration).
At least it doesn't portray Trump with a halo, like some of the images of Obama lined up on heraldry in the background.
