A Texas uncle is being hailed as a hero after he took decisive action to protect his underage nieces from a man authorities say was soliciting children for drugs and sexual activity.

The family says Markus Renfro, 33, shot the suspect in the genitals when the man allegedly approached him aggressively after trying to lure the girls. Renfro’s brother-in-law recounted: “My little cousin told me that the dude said, ‘Oh, come back and smoke some meth with me, you know, have some drugs.’ We had already heard that a certain dude had been messing with other little kids around here.”



That man is a hero and deserves a key to the city.
