President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Operation Epic Fury in Iran will come to an end in the next two or three weeks, or perhaps even sooner.


Trump’s comments came while fielding questions from reporters after signing an election integrity executive order to ensure mail-in ballots are only given to and returned by eligible voters.


“I think two or three weeks; we’ll leave, because there’s no reason for us to do this,” Trump said while fielding a question about when the war will end during remarks on the Hormuz Strait.

Trump said securing the Strait will be the responsibility of the countries that depend on it for oil, adding that it will probably be secure from threats by the time the U.S. leaves.

They are going to need lofs and lots of laborers in Iran  so maybe the Iranian government can convince a few million of our "refugees" to go there and work.  Work!  oh!  My bad.

What happens, if in 2-3 weeks, the US still needs to stay in Iran? Or worse, has to ramp-up things, like put in troops?

Who's going to believe anything he says after that?

The implication is that we'll stop blowing it up, and two weeks seems short with an enemy this intractable. 

Last time we were up against a semi-Divine leader we had to drop not one, but two Atom Bombs to make him see the error of his ways.  One wasn't enough.  His military leader wanted to keep trying.  No telling how things would have gone had Tojo known we were months away from a third device.  The Emperor understood the "big picture" that we would put the entire country under green glass-like Trinitite.

So many questions here.  Are the Israelis a part of this negotiation?  What happens to the nuclear material?  What are the Iranians getting in exchange for reopening the strait?

47 years ago a Newscaster I greatly respected told me at the time "it's just dogma," but after a few years of "Death to America" I reverted to my original opinion!  We're going to have to break these Mullahs!  And here we are, after eight Presidents, counting President Trump.

They aren't going to reopen the Strait until the regime collapses.  We have to keep up the pressure.

The "Lexington and Concord moment" was only possible arising within a community of white Christian paternalistic males of Euro heritage.

Without those qualities and ethnic characteristics, it would not have happened.

I think Mr. Trump's prediction is going to fall by the wayside, as did his previous ones.

The war will not be "over" when HE says it is.
It will be, when the iranians stop firing missiles and (after a set number of days) sue for a settlement.

Even then, so long as the mullahs (and republican guards who support those mullahs) remain in power, I sense they will view this as more of a "hudna" than anything else. If you don't know what that term means, look it up.

I will consider "victory" as being within reach when we've occupied Kharg Island, and also when we've landed and secured the iranian shoreline 100 miles on either side of the Straits of Hormuz.

It will take that much.
