University of Idaho employees routed their political giving overwhelmingly to the left in the 2026 midterms cycle—about a 419-to-1 advantage for Democratic-aligned candidates and committees.
Of the $75,582 in total employee contributions recorded in the Federal Election Commission (FEC) database, $75,402 (99.76 percent) went to Democratic-aligned candidates and committees, while $180 (0.24 percent) went to Republican-aligned candidates and committees. The dollar gap between the two totals stands at $75,222.
The largest individual donor shown is Paul Hohenlohe, listed as faculty, who gave $18,078 across 27 donations—about 23.9 percent of the University of Idaho total.
