The Madness of Palm Sunday
Kevin McCullough

There are moments in history that feel almost too poetic to be real.

Palm Sunday is one of them.

Jesus rides into Jerusalem, not in secrecy, not under cover of darkness—but in full view of a swelling, electric crowd. They line the streets. They wave palm branches. They throw their cloaks on the ground. They shout, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”

They are celebrating Him like a king.

And they’re right to do so.

This wasn’t random. This wasn’t accidental. This wasn’t Jesus getting swept up in a moment. This was deliberate, calculated, prophetic fulfillment. Centuries earlier, the prophet Zechariah had written that Israel’s king would come riding on a donkey—gentle, humble, unmistakable. And here He was, doing exactly that.

Not on a war horse. Not with an army. But on a borrowed donkey.

Because He wasn’t coming to conquer Rome.

He was coming to conquer something far more permanent.

'Madness'?? Quite a strange title for this article.  Madness in a sense I suppose that at first people were cheering Jesus and laying palms on the ground before him only to later call for his death.

Great day to rewatch Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ".

It would be if I weren't such a wimp. That movie breaks me. I'll watch King of Kings.

When I was fairly young I read a book that went into horrific detail about the physical ramifications of the crucifixion and cried for days. Not to mention mental.
The article was very good, though.

The movie is intense but it accurately depicts the hatred towards Jesus and his love for us.

When we saw it in the theaters, not a sound could be heard from those in the audience and then quite a long round of applause at the end.

I can't wait for Gibson's "The Resurrection" which will be out sometime next year.
