State Department reveals world's most dangerous countries for Americans

The State Department has issued a sweeping update to its global travel advisories, elevating risk levels for several Middle Eastern nations and warning of heightened threats

The State Department has continued to update its travel advisories as the conflict with Iran and adversarial relationships with other nations continue to play out across the world.

Americans traveling abroad could be targets for arbitrary arrests or attacks, the agency has warned.

In its interactive world map, the agency has branded several Middle Eastern countries as unsafe for Americans to travel to. Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain have moved from Level 2 to Level 3 advisories, meaning Americans should exercise caution or reconsider their travels to those locations altogether, the New York Post first reported.

Iran has been branded a "Level 4: Do Not Travel" destination, with Americans facing risks of wrongful detention, violence and kidnapping amid the unrest there.

I wouldn't travel outside this country and the threat from Iran that tourist destinations and our parks aren't safe should give Americans reason to be cautious.  I'm even watching by back more as I go to our local parks.

I used to enjoy the occasional European trip, but the only countries I'd consider visiting now are Poland and Hungary, as they apparently actually enforce their borders. Nevertheless, I'm more than content to stay within the US for the rest of my life.

My friend is retiring in September and plans on going to Spain for two months and on to France and Italy.  I told her she really needs to rethink her plans as things aren't exactly wonderful in the EU.  She has family there and said she'll assess the situation and she bought travel insurance.  We'll see.

Saturday (tomorrow we have an all day event close to a ridiculous "No Kings" rally.  I' More afraid of these dyed haired, nose-ringed, old and fat nazi feminists here than traveling to some of the so-called other dangerous countries.

But being how FL, especially the L.A. part of FL, is armed I feel safe if any funky shit goes down in the city.
