It’s day 33 of the war, and my hometown is still being heavily bombed.

Iranians are only now, with great difficulty, realizing that for all these years, they have essentially been living inside a massive military base the size of a country.

They’re finally understanding why Iran, despite all its resources, has remained so poor: because all the money has been spent preparing the regime for its apocalyptic final war.

None of this is defensive. It’s all offensive.

After every strike, Israel posts reports in Persian explaining exactly what it has hit. The main reason for cutting off the internet is so that people won’t see or understand what’s really happening.

Underground missile cities, bunkers built beneath residential neighborhoods, tunnels upon tunnels upon tunnels. It’s horrifying. This regime must go.

President Zelenskyy: Ukraine is open to discussing the issue of the Strait of Hormuz, but we are not involved at this stage, as no such request has been made.

"Today, I do not see any country capable of lifting the blockade on its own - only joint efforts can deliver results. Ukraine has experience launching a grain corridor in the Black Sea despite Russia’s attempts to block the supply of food and other goods. The current situation is similar, but this time it concerns energy.

Our proposal - based on our experience - is that the war and negotiations on reopening the Strait of Hormuz could proceed in parallel. It is worth trying to find a diplomatic solution, and this could be beneficial for both sides in the conflict.

An alternative approach could be the establishment of unilateral control over the strait, similar to what Ukraine did with the grain corridor. This would require interceptors, military convoys to escort vessels, a large integrated electronic warfare network, and other tools. We are ready to help with this.

However, at this stage, we are not involved. No one has made such a request yet. For now, we are simply sharing our expertise. If one day our partners choose to use it, we will be ready."

Wiles was concerned that the president's aides were offering him a rose-colored outlook on how the war was being perceived among Americans, too often telling Trump what he wanted to hear, according to TIME Magazine, which cited several White House sources and a senior administration official.

According to the official, Trump has begun many recent days by viewing videos gathered by military officials that show only battlefield successes in the Middle East. In the third week of the war, it was Wiles' responsibility to share surveys by Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio that showed the war's increasing unpopularity with the president at one such meeting, TIME reported. The surveys reportedly referenced the skyrocketing price of gas, stock market volatility and the millions of protesters who had taken to the streets in opposition to the conflict.

The longer the war lasted, the more difficult it would be for Trump and Republicans at large to fare well in November's critical midterm elections, Wiles reportedly told the president. Prospects for the GOP were already looking grim before the onset of the war, with Democrats flipping more than two-dozen seats across the U.S. since Trump's reelection while Republicans flipped none.

Trump left the meeting "fuming" at the negative feedback on his war, TIME reported. He began searching for an off-ramp to the conflict, telling at least two advisors and two members of Congress that he wanted to wind down the military campaign, sources told TIME.

His Republican allies say that Trump is now trying to figure out some way to both declare victory in the war while pulling back from combat, hoping doing so will rebound the American economy with enough time to staunch the political bleeding before November, TIME reported.
