🚨 REPORT: FAILED KURDISH INVASION PLAN AGAINST IRAN

According to a recent TOI report, a joint US-Israel plan to enable a Kurdish ground invasion into Iran — aimed at destabilizing and potentially toppling the regime — has collapsed.

Key details:

• Tens of thousands of Kurdish fighters were expected to enter Iran from Iraq with US-Israeli air support
• Objective: push toward Tehran, stretch regime forces, and ignite internal uprising
• Plan was reportedly developed over years and presented at the highest levels

Why it failed:

• Media leaks exposed the operation before launch
• Iran shifted forces and coordinated with Iraq to block it
• Opposition from Turkey and concerns from Gulf states
• Kurdish hesitation over lack of ground support and trust issues with the US

Two separate launch opportunities were ultimately scrapped.

The plan is now reportedly off the table.

The breakdown has also created tension between Washington and Jerusalem.

USS Tripoli arrives with Marines as US surges forces to Middle East

A U.S. Marine with Lima Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, participate in a ship defense exercise aboard the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7), in the 7th Fleet area of operations, March 26, 2026. The 31st MEU is a persistent, combat credible force operating aboard the ships of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations, routinely interacting and operating with our allies and partners to contribute to deterrence, security, crisis response, and combat operations in the Indo-Pacific region. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Eric Reyes)

The USS Tripoli and more than 2,200 Marines have arrived in the Middle East as the U.S. surges forces into the region amid the ongoing war with Iran, according to Task & Purpose.

U.S. Central Command confirmed the arrival of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group, which includes about 3,500 sailors and Marines along with aircraft and amphibious assault capabilities.

The deployment includes Marine Corps F-35B fighter jets and roughly 1,200 ground combat troops within the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Task & Purpose reported.

The arrival comes as the conflict enters its second month and follows reports the Pentagon is weighing sending up to 10,000 additional troops to the region.

A second amphibious group carrying roughly 2,500 Marines is also en route, while elements of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division are preparing to deploy, according to the report.

The U.S. is also expected to send a third aircraft carrier strike group to the region, further expanding its military footprint as operations against Iran continue.

SEE IT: Inside US Navy flight deck ops amid Operation Epic Fury

https://twitter.com/CENTCOM/status/2038017286288912585

U.S. Central Command shared a behind-the-scenes look at Navy aircraft maintenance as operations continue in the Middle East amid the conflict with Iran.

Photos released by CENTCOM show service members working aboard a carrier, performing maintenance on aircraft after thousands of hours of flight operations tied to Operation Epic Fury.

“U.S. Navy aircraft have been well maintained through thousands of work hours performed by dedicated service members on top of their game,” CENTCOM said in a statement on X.

The images put a spotlight on the round-the-clock maintenance required to keep aircraft mission-ready as U.S. forces continue Operation Epic Fury.

Up to 1,000 Iranian agents may be in Canada, posing US threat: report

As many as 1,000 suspected Iranian regime-linked operatives may be embedded in Canada, potentially posing a security threat to the United States, according to a New York Post report citing officials and experts.

The individuals are believed to have ties to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and may have entered Canada through asylum or immigration channels, making them difficult to remove.

“It’s a huge problem,” Canadian lawmaker Michelle Rempel Garner told the outlet, warning the issue extends beyond Canada to its allies.

Experts told the New York Post the Iranian regime has a history of deploying “sleeper cells” globally and could activate them amid the ongoing conflict with the U.S. and Israel.

An encrypted message reportedly intercepted by U.S. authorities suggested a possible “operational trigger” may have been issued.

The report also noted a recent shooting incident outside the U.S. Consulate in Toronto, though it remains unclear whether the suspects were linked to Iran.

Canadian authorities have identified dozens of high-ranking Iranian officials living in the country, with some facing deportation proceedings, but critics say enforcement has been limited.

A retired Marine Corps commander said U.S. ground forces could play a critical role in the Iran conflict, particularly in hitting targets that airstrikes can’t reach.

Speaking on "Fox News Live" with Aishah Hasnie, retired Col. Mike Jernigan said Marines provide “additional capability” for CENTCOM, including the ability to conduct rapid amphibious raids and return to ships to reset for follow-on missions.

Jernigan said that kind of flexibility could allow U.S. forces to strike targets located near populated areas that may be off-limits to air campaigns.

He also argued that securing Iran’s enriched uranium would likely require a physical presence on the ground.

“Difficult is not the same as impossible,” Jernigan said. “Our American Marines… train for the difficult and near impossible every day.”

Addressing reports that Iran could rebuild parts of its missile arsenal after the conflict, Jernigan dismissed the concern as manageable.

“It sounds like a challenge. It doesn’t sound like a problem,” he said, noting the size of Iran and the complexity of tracking mobile missile units.

@Cyber Liberty

I'm not concerned with the speculative 'why'.  I'm concerned with the 'what'.  Ukraine has achieved a 90+% kill ratio against these drones on a daily basis.  The majority of these are taken out electronically.  They are  without question the world's leading technology in tactical anti-drone warfare.

They are also currently defending their country against Russian drone attacks.  This is the same Russia that is currently aiding Iran in their aggression against us, in both satellite intelligence and drone exports.  In essence, Russia is taking an active role in killing American troops.

So, from this point forward, what is our position going to be regarding Ukraine?  As it stands right now, our President publicly:

- Blames Ukraine for Russian aggression
- Urges Ukraine to surrender
- States that he has no use for Ukrainian drone technology since the US is far more advanced
- And now has given Russia the green light to sell more oil, giving them the ability to export more drones to Iran

Personally, I have a problem with that position.  I think our troops would be much better served if we starved Russia while at the same time coordinating with Ukraine to put a stop to Iranian drone attacks on our bases, thus saving American lives.  And that is far more important than someone getting their feelings hurt eight years ago because a newly elected President of Ukraine wasn't going to bow to foreign influence.

Over Russia, Belarus, Hungary, Spain, France, Germany, the UK, or Iran?  Absolutely.  1000%.

Seriously, what is there not to trust?  Iran is their enemy.  Russia is their enemy.  They want to help.

@IAPonomarenko

The most absurd part is this: when Europeans refuse to get involved in a war with Iran, Trump throws tantrums, hurling insults and threats. When Europeans agree to cooperate with him, Trump still throws tantrums, hurling insults and threats, and declares he doesn’t need anyone.

When Ukraine -- despite all the shovelfuls of dirt that Trump throws at it daily -- chooses not to be a dick about the situation and immediately offers help, along with its specific technologies and frontline experience, Trump still throws tantrums, hurling insults and threats.

And his exhalted fans online shout that Ukraine is “ungrateful” (to whom?? to Trump??) and isn’t eagerly licking his boots hard enough. He’s now publicly smearing even Mohammed bin Salman with crude insults.

In this sea of erratic behavior, there are simply no rules for navigating it correctly. No matter what you do, the outcome is the same.

Apparently, the only winning strategy is to behave like Putin and directly and openly support the Iranian regime. Then Donald Trump will be the one tiptoeing around you, brushing off dust, and kissing your hands.

🚀 STRILA 2 interceptor drones set to hunt Shaheds in seconds

Ukraine is expanding its air defense with the upgraded STRILA 2 interceptor drone, developed by WIY Drones in cooperation with Germany’s Quantum Systems. The system introduces a rocket booster that launches the drone almost vertically, reaching several kilometers in altitude within seconds before switching to efficient electric flight.

This setup allows the drone to position above targets like Shahed and ZALA drones and strike from the most vulnerable angle. The onboard AI enables autonomous target recognition and engagement, keeping the interceptor on course even if electronic warfare disrupts communication.

The project is already backed by German funding, with 15,000 STRILA family interceptors ordered for Ukraine’s National Guard and production scaling inside Ukraine to speed up delivery and upgrades.

Instead of relying solely on expensive Patriot or IRIS T missiles, these interceptors offer a far cheaper way to take down Shaheds, Orlan, and other drones, taking down more drones at a fraction of the price.

Ghalibaf also said Hezbollah has evolved into a “key and effective” pillar of the “axis of resistance” despite past disarmament pressure, praises Iraqi militias as “fighting bravely,” and says Houthis brought a “new momentum” to the front and are prepared to deliver “surprises.”
In a message to the Iranian public, Ghalibaf describes the conflict as a “major world war,” warning of a prolonged, difficult path ahead but asserting Iran will prevail with public support. He also claims recent Iranian actions have dealt “heavy blows” to U.S. strategic assets, from advanced aircraft to aircraft carriers, and says energy markets have been destabilized.

🇺🇸🇮🇷 The Pentagon is reportedly preparing for weeks of possible ground operations in Iran, including Special Ops raids.

Trump hasn’t signed off yet… but the plans are on the table.

Meanwhile, U.S. Marines are already deploying, with thousands more from the 82nd Airborne potentially next.

This could escalate from airstrikes to boots on the ground very quickly.

Footage Confirms Iranian Precision Strike Destroyed $500 Million U.S. ‘Flying Radar’ Aircraft: Replacement Impossible Until 2030s

https://militarywatchmagazine.com/article/footage-iran-destroy-500mil-flying-radar

Quote
Following reports that Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks had destroyed at least one U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry airborne warning and control system (AWACS) at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, footage released from the facility has confirmed the aircraft’s destruction. Images show an E-3G from the 552nd Air Control Wing based at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, serial number 81-0005, destroyed at the key forward operating facility in the Persian Gulf. The Iranian attack appears to have precisely targeted its most critical component, the tail section, where its rotating radar dome is located, with analysts making conflicting assessments on whether a drone or ballistic missile impact was most likely to have been responsible. The E-3 is the most high value aircraft in the U.S. Air Force, rivalled only by the E-4B Nightwatch airborne command post, with both costing close to $500 million.

What Base and Wing commander thought this was a good idea without any meaningful air defenses.  Reeks of American and perhaps Saudi hubris and arrogance.  That's a little more than simply "damaged."

One question @Hoodat  - do you feel that Ukraine can be trusted??

:facepalm2:

Ukraine can be trusted to fight for liberty against oppression.  I’m astounded that so many Americans no longer consider that a virtue, and would prefer their betters make real estate investments with tyrants.

Report: Pentagon Preps Weeks‑Long Ground Ops in Iran as U.S. Marines Arrive in Theater

The Pentagon is preparing for what could become weeks-long ground operations inside Iran — including Special Operations raids and limited infantry missions — as U.S. forces, including a Marine expeditionary unit now in theater, continue to build up for a potentially more dangerous next phase of Operation Epic Fury, according to a report published Saturday.

Mediators gather in Pakistan for talks to end Iran war

Top diplomats from key regional powers gathered in Pakistan on Sunday to discuss how to end the fighting in the Middle East.

Nevertheless, there were few signs of peace taking hold as the U.S. and Israel continued strikes against targets across Iran this weekend.

Pakistan said foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt were participating in the talks in Islamabad. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held “extensive discussions” on regional hostilities.

More than 3,000 people have been killed throughout the monthlong war that began with U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, triggering Iran’s attacks on Israel and neighboring Gulf Arab states. The war has also threatened oil and gas supplies with Iran’s grip on the strategic Strait of Hormuz shaking markets.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, March 28, 2026

Excerpt:

Ukraine continues to conclude bilateral defense cooperation agreements with Gulf states. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on March 28 that Ukraine and Qatar signed a 10-year defense agreement that includes developing defense industry and technologies, air defenses, counter-drone measures, military training, experience sharing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), and control systems.

Zelensky stated that the agreement includes building joint production factories in both Ukraine and Qatar.[21] Zelensky stated that Ukraine will soon conclude a similar agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) but noted that these agreements do not mean that Ukraine is obligated to help defend these states.

Ukraine and Saudi Arabia concluded a defense cooperation agreement on March 27.

ISW continues to assess that Ukraine can offer the United States and US allies in the Middle East unique insights into how to counter Iranian strikes, as the Ukrainian military has institutionalized and operationalized the fighting experience that Ukraine has learned throughout the past four years of war.

Agreed. Ukraine has been invaded, in two separate waves (2014 and the latest), and is fighting back. The invaders thought they'd have an easy go of it, and have been proven wrong by a combination of Ukrainian tenacity, ingenuity, and weapons/funding from elsewhere to use Ukraine as a buffer to 'former Soviet' aggression. I think they can be trusted to resist Russia as long as they can.
What's more, they are likely the best/most advanced drone warfare folks on the planet, who have achieved an economy of force projection unheard of in  US military procurement.
I think there is much to be gained by collaboration, and without knowing what may have transpired that ticked 47 off, think that Z not showing up in Prada is little reason to be offended to the point that we ignore the fact that we are both fighting wars, and in the  case of Iran, the asymmetry can work against us if we do not have the means to decisively defeat it.

Agreed.

Imagine flying FPV drones into missile complex tunnels...

That would require DOW to have an imagination ... FPV drones are not expensive enough or high enough tech to be of any interest to US war planners.

47 could change that view, but Zelensky does not dress well and makes poor style choices which is highly offensive to 47. Besides, the US sells weapons to Ukraine, and certainly does not buy them from Ukraine which is also be highly offensive to 47.

Seems to me that even a teenager with a passing knowledge of Iranian history would be able to figure out that when someone has been preparing for war for almost half a century, they would have many, many layers of defense which would take years to successfully overcome, not a handful of weeks with an air campaign.

We're dealing with an adversary who has had the benefit of hiding proxies and studying the results for decades while not directly suffering the consequences of those experiments. Sure, they are going to have assets which are 'dug in'. Every power in the world did so through the 20th century, from trench warfare, to the Maginot line, to modern ICBM Silos, and the Peacekeeper Missile concept even used mobile launchers for Strategic Nuclear weapons.
The Mullahs haven't signed any agreements to NOT do any of this, not that they would be worth the ink on the page, so they will have utilized every trick in the book to enhance their asymmetric abilities. Drones to Russia just helped their own development, once more, by proxy.

That said, failing to eliminate the threat is like cutting out half a malignant tumor. It's going to come back, and will likely be lethal. If Europe cannot/will not see that threat, that's on them, but one freighter outside the 200 mile limit with nuclear missiles on board could be a greater threat to the US than the Russians (who wanted to threaten Armageddon, but wanted to survive it, too), because the Mullahs welcome martyrdom and the 12th Imam.

47 needs to at least recognize the tactical and strategic benefits of working with Ukraine are profound, and with Russia (Putin) backing Iran in this, the demarcation lines could not be more clear to anyone who is not looking through the fog of perceived personal insult. No, Ukraine was indeed corrupt while the Biden clan was running things here, but that isn't the source of Z's personal wealth (as relatively small as that is). Z was a media mogul in Ukraine after being a successful comic there, and duly elected, faced with a situation (invasion by a top tier world power) few would have risen to and survived more than a few weeks.
Credit where credit is due, he rallied his people to stand up for their independence from Russia, and continues to do so effectively.
We could benefit from the partnership.

$530B USD?

That's going to leave a mark.  Especially since Iran's entire GDP is only $375B

To put that in perspective, that (if true) would be like confiscation of $50T from us.
