There are objective truths - the Sun shines, the wind blows, things are made of molecules, math can solve most of the worlds material problems, the laws of economics cannot be violated forever, gravity and electromagnetism are universal forces, or the Buffalo Bills will never win a Superbowl.
The problem is too many people don't want to accept objective truth, or at least only the parts they like. Generally their motivations are that of a strutty, cocky punk who wants rebel against all authority, yet rule over everyone around them like a dictator. That almost always requires a suspension of objective belief to make that happen - at least for awhile.
