Joe Kent was registered as a Democrat until 2021.

Kent was affiliated with the Libertarian Party from 2012 to 2019, then switched to the Democratic Party in 2019. He remained a Democrat through 2020 (including voting for Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary that year. He switched to the Republican Party in 2021.

He began running for Congress in Washington's 3rd District as a Republican starting around that time.

Joe Kent is an opportunist. I could possibly appreciate his opinion, and respectfully disagree with it, if he had integrity and the ability to stay consistent.

But it appears that Kent is nothing more than a windsock.

If you're reading Kent's letter and wondering how it makes sense for him to say his wife died in a war fomented by Israel when she died in Syria from an ISIS attack, understand that "Israel controls ISIS" is a popular conspiracy theory in some parts.

Senior admin official says Joe Kent was “a known leaker” - and was cut out of POTUS intelligence briefings months ago. He has not been part of any Iran planning discussions or briefings at all. Official says also the White House told DNI Gabbard Kent should be fired for suspected leaks, but she never did.

If he had not resigned, he would have been fired. Anyone on that level of security clearance, with that level of special information, is 'no longer allowed' and has agreed not to publicly spew his personal opinions on national affairs. He is no longer a regular private citizen. His 'opinions' are taken as he is speaking for the administration from his office position.

He has certainly erased his security clearance and any chance at being put in charge of any similar position. He has revealed himself as a 'talker' and a turncoat. I doubt even a Democrat would hire him because he has demonstrated that he cannot be trusted to obey and adhere to the responsibilities of his job.

Regardless of how much anyone may 'HATE' Trump, this is a lack of professionalism and it is a betrayal of the people who recommended and hire him for the post.

This guy has a net worth under $1M and a family.  He was eviscerated by the left during confirmation, and now he will come under attack by the Israeli lobby as well as MAGA.  He has plenty to lose.  Why not acknowledge his service and just assume he is acting in good faith?  Trump knew his philosophy when he was hired.

There’s more to the Joe Kent story than meets the eye. According to friends, apparently, Joe leaked intelligence under the nose of the Secretary of War. As a result, his access to classified information was removed several weeks ago. He’s not stepping down due to his allegiance to integrity, he’s being forced to leave.

I didn't know it was Tulsi's job to endorse a war, as if that would make any difference. Her job is to provide the information necessary to conduct it, regardless of her personal feelings which may or may have not changed (along with intel on Iran) since she posted "No war on Iran" back in 2020, six years ago.

I'd be like saying "No war on Japan" in 1936 and having a different viewpoint by 1942. A lot can change.

As a Senate-confirmed member of the President's cabinet, it absolutely is her job to support and endorse his actions.  If she does not, then she should resign.  That's the way it's supposed to work.  But it's really obvious now that nobody else in trump's administration trusts her on this, no matter how great she's been at exposing the abuses inside National Intelligence.
