10% tax out of the blue is a really stupid policy.  There are lots of highly paid and highly mobile professionals in that region.  Even the progressives won’t be interested in a 10% haircut.

And don't forget there were dim congressional meetings several years ago about conducting a confiscation of IRA's and 401 k's to fund a National Social Security system.

I still expect to see that tried in my life time.  Another reason to keep the filbuster.

And the main reason I am cashing out my IRAs during the current relatively low tax rates we have at present.
