good, glad to hear this - Thune was supposedly hemming and hawing over this bill, which is enormously popular with Americans across the board.

Interesting. I have always thought that a vote wasn't brought to the floor unless it would pass. At least that's what Nan did.

From what I heard on tv, there is a lot of other things attached to this that may hold up passage. Can it be passed as a "clean" bill without other things included?

So Thune is going to "force" the vote in a manner that's guaranteed to fail?  He's not stupid, but he thinks we are!  Do a standup Filibuster and make the Democrats read phonebooks!

All for show and completely meaningless.
He knows the vote will fail. From his viewpoint, that's the reason for having it.

Once more, I'll repeat for all time:
The ONLY WAY the SAVE Act will be passed is if the Republican Senators nuke the filibuster.
NO other option is possible.

Might as well take the SAVE Act and toss it into the trash.
In the hands of the current Republican "leadership", it's not worth the paper it's printed on.

July 2, 2029

Senate passes 51-49 for POTUS Shapiro's sweeping phasing and eventual ban of hydrocarbon use except for specific governmental approved applications.

August 16, 2030

VPOTUS Whitmer breaks 50-50 tie implementing POTUS Shapiro's legal immigration changes.  All residents showing proof of 5 years of residency will be granted retroactive citizenship

Don't do something we might regret in the future.  It's a last line of defense when we aren't in power.

And if this is the 80/20 issue that polls indicate then brand in on their ass, along with DHS funding which by itself is a time bomb.
