Grandstanding Dem should’ve done a better job vetting his illegal alien SOTU guest

Democratic lawmakers showcased to the country during last week’s State of the Union address that they prioritize the protection of illegal immigrants over the interests of Americans, and some took it a step further by bringing illegal aliens with them as their guests.
But, in the case of U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.), this ideological grandstanding ultimately blew up in his face when it was reported that his guest, 18-year-old Marcelo Gomes da Silva, was referenced in police reports as a person of interest involving sexual assault and juveniles, according to the Milford Police Department.
Moulton went on MSNOW following President Trump’s address and called the illegal alien, who has been in the U.S. since he was 6-years-old, a “great American,” a “patriot,” and said that da Silvia was “a reminder of what courage looks like.”
“We all know Marcelo because of his tragic immigration story where he was thrown in a detention facility for days on end, sleeping on a concrete floor and not even given a Bible … and yet throughout that time he insisted on helping others, [was] more focused on translating for other detainees and helping them contact their families than even his own safety,” Moulton said.
The teen was detained by ICE agents last year and held for nearly a week. Agents were looking for his father and arrested da Silvia after realizing that his visa had expired.
When the Department of Homeland Security noted in a post shared on X during Trump’s speech that da Silvia was in the country illegally, members of Moulton’s staff rushed him to their office for protection, claiming DHS was “targeting and harassing Marcelo.”
