I trust anything Murphy says about as much as gas station sushi.

I think both Murphy and Mark Kelly both should get a test gig at Leavenworth for Sedition.

Just for shits and giggles.....   and in my POV mostly giggles.

Huge crowds gather in Tehran for pro-regime funeral

People attend a funeral ceremony for the Iranian military commanders who were killed in strikes, amid the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran, in Tehran, Iran, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. (Majid Asgaripour/WANA via Reuters)

Photos emerged Wednesday showing a massive crowd of Iranians gathering in Tehran for a funeral honoring Iranian military commanders who were killed in the joint U.S.-Israeli conflict.

Abdolrahim Mousavi, the chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, and Mohammad Pakpour, the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), were among those whose funeral ceremonies were being held, according to the website IranWire.

"Mousavi served as one of the highest senior military ranking officials," the IDF said earlier this month.

Pakpour was one of the leaders of the "destruction of Israel" plan, the IDF said.

Just a few more of Fishrrman's "off-the-wall" comments...

Remember how Vlad Putin thought he could start a war and have it over in a week or two?
His intended target -- Ukraine -- offered somewhat more resistance than he had planned on.

Same goes with Mr. Trump v. Iran.
This isn't going to be a war that can be "completed" in a few more days at his discretion.
The Iranians -- despite all the hits they've taken -- keep coming back, still firing missiles that are hitting targets throughout the Mideast, putting down mines in Hormuz, etc.

The "Hormuz problem" isn't going to be solved without PHYSICAL control of the shoreline (and internal land as well) for, say, 150 miles in either direction. That's going to require troops, to prevent Iranian naval operations on the coast, and actions by ground troups further inland.

Even if they lose Hormuz, what's to keep the IRGC from firing at ships in the Persian Gulf, before they even GET to Hormuz?

At a given moment, are we just going to halt the air bombardment operations and walk away?
How does that constitute an "unconditional surrender" or "victory"?
(educate me)

One last thought (more off-the-wall than any of them):
Could this conflict require a "nuclear moment" before the IRGC/mullahs finally give it up...?

It looks like the old saying that air power alone can't win a war is coming back to haunt Trump. People don't surrender if they're not dying in large numbers.

And in the case of Islamists, they want to go down with the ship as martyrs so surrender is even less likely.

I would have thought our military planners would have taken all that into account.

It is going to take boots on the ground, at a minimum, to account for and remove the enriched uranium - short of regime change which isn't looking likely. Without getting the enriched uranium the mission will be a failure.

Sounds about right. 47 for all his acumen in construction, is not much in foreign policy or war. War always requires someone's troops on the ground. There is absolutely no way to hold territory without them, no way to verify the enemy is no longer in control.

Unconditional surrender requires absolute and overwhelming force from every direction, including on the ground.

I'm beginning to imagine someone sold 47 a bill of goods or that he overruled those that knew better. Pick one. Either way this will not turn out well.

Its very very likely that 47 overruled the military planners ... 47 has a political position to uphold and dead troops are not in the cards for he of "no more foreign wars".

Iran definitely needs to go away as a threat and a potential nuclear menace, but 47 should have understood from the outset that troops will be required and prepared accordingly. Now there is no troop build up and no preparations for one, let alone actually using them. Not a good position to be in at this point in 47's War™.

I think you are correct @Fishrrman ... this is probably going to require some boots on the ground to maintain some sort of stability in the region.

As for nukes; I certainly hope not.  That enters us and the region and the world into a whole different ballgame, one that I'm not so sure that any country (except perhaps Russia or China) wants to use.

Trump isn't stupid and I'm confident that he realized from the get go that at some point in time boots on the ground would be needed.  I believe that there are already plans in place for some troop build up; transfers from another area likely --- peacekeeping rather than a conflict involving our troops.

U.S. Central Command said it issued a warning Wednesday to civilians "that the Iranian regime is using civilian ports along the Strait of Hormuz to conduct military operations that threaten international shipping."

"U.S. forces urge civilians in Iran to immediately avoid all port facilities where Iranian naval forces are operating. Iranian dockworkers, administrative personnel, and commercial vessel crews should avoid Iranian naval vessels and military equipment," CENTCOM said in a statement.

"The Iranian regime is using civilian ports along the Strait of Hormuz to conduct military operations that threaten international shipping. This dangerous action risks the lives of innocent people. Civilian ports used for military purposes lose protected status and become legitimate military targets under international law," it warned.

"Although the U.S. military also cannot guarantee civilian safety in or near facilities used by the Iranian regime for military purposes, American forces will continue taking every feasible precaution to minimize harm to civilians," CENTCOM also said.

🚨 BREAKING: FBI warned police departments in California within recent days that Iran may launch ATTACK DRONES at west coast targets, per ABC

Iran intended to launch the drones from a vessel off the US coast, per an FBI memo

But Democrats have CLOSED THE COAST GUARD along with much of the rest of DHS. Insane.

“We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United State Homeland, specifically against unspecified targets in California, in the event that the US conducted strikes against Iran," the memo said

"We have no additional information on the timing, method, target, or perpetrators of this alleged attack."

Iran has been launching attack drones at major cities in neighboring countries like the UAE, including the drone seen below, which caused significant damage to a hotel.

RE-OPEN DHS,

Since this morning, the air defenses of Tehran and Karaj have been noticeably active. Given that this air defense (23mm cannon) has no utility against advanced fighter jets and is only activated for drones, it seems a drone operation has intensified.

Trump isn't stupid and I'm confident that he realized from the get go that at some point in time boots on the ground would be needed.  I believe that there are already plans in place for some troop build up; transfers from another area likely --- peacekeeping rather than a conflict involving our troops.

God Bless Our Troops!  :patriot:

First, there would have to be an activation which has not happened, second, there would have to be a prepositioning of weapons and supplies which has not happened.

It would require at least 150,000 troops for a starter, as Iran is much bigger than Iraq or Afghan - there is no place to transfer such an amount of people from anywhere, but the US.

No, he's a political animal now, and using troops would require the forfeiture of the next election, and then there would be at least one impeachment, as everything grinds to a halt; if 47's War is continuing the Democrats would defund it, even if it meant many troops killed, and that Iran would make nuclear weapons, and use them.

Once started, a war must go to its logical conclusion; 47 is obviously not prepared.

Sorry, if you find this offensive ...

This enough should be ample reason to turn every governmental square inch of infrastructure to rubble.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.  Note:  Posts may also be allegorical in nature, and not literal.

According to CBS, the Iranian drone strike that killed 6 U.S. soldiers in Kuwait seriously injured more  U.S. service members than was previously reported. According to the report the Iranian strike, which took place in the initial round of reciprocal strikes between the U.S., Israel, and Iran left soldiers with a myriad of injuries, including brain trauma, shrapnel wounds, and burns. Per the report, more than 30 service members remain in hospitals with battle injuries from the strike. One at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, 12 at Walter Reed Medical Center in suburban Washington, D.C., and about 25 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

Nice to have a warning, but it is still illegal for anyone to shoot down a drone under Federal law. So an Iranian drone attack has a free hand to attack at will with no opposition.
