U.S. Central Command on Monday morning issued a “fact check” on a Russian and Iranian media claim that a U.S. patriot missile struck a Bahrain neighborhood by accident.

Russian and Iranian media claimed that a U.S. patriot missile missed intercepting an Iranian missile or drone and inadvertently hit the neighborhood, according to the command.

The command called the claim a “lie.”

“What really happened: An Iranian drone struck a residential neighborhood, injuring 32 civilians in Bahrain, including children who required medical treatment, according to Bahrain’s government,” the command said, adding “TRUTH.”

Travel is about to get more expensive as Iran conflict sparks jet fuel crunch

Airfares could rise in the weeks ahead as the Iran conflict disrupts energy markets and squeezes jet-fuel supplies, increasing costs for airlines and passengers.

Fuel traders are watching the Strait of Hormuz closely, because disruptions from U.S.-Israeli strikes and retaliatory Iranian drone and missile attacks could quickly ripple through global oil and gas flows.

Just about 21 miles wide at its narrowest, the Strait of Hormuz, between Iran and Oman, is a global energy choke point. Roughly 20 million barrels of oil move through the waterway each day, along with about one-fifth of global liquefied natural gas (LNG), making it a high value target when regional tensions flare.

When that energy bottleneck tightens, crude and refined fuel markets can jump. Jet fuel is typically one of airlines' biggest operating costs, so even a modest spike can ripple into ticket prices and fees.

Jaime Brito, an energy market analyst, said distributors and airlines value supply security enough to pay a premium, so jet fuel is typically bought in advance through long-term contracts.

It's time for Mr. Trump to take action (not sure where his authority extends on this, if at all) to "sever" and "insulate" the American petroleum markets (all petroleum produced from inside the borders of the USA, and perhaps Canada as well) from "the rest" of the world market.

Cut it off.
Build "a wall".
But ... do something.

If the American oil market can be severed from the rest of the world, we will see prices (here) fall back towards "normal".

I realize you're going to reply that "petroleum is a fungible product".
But that's only because we ALLOW it to be so.
That can be controlled, if we want to do it.
So... DO IT.

After all, we are now "self-sufficient" in petroleum, are we not?
Isn't that what we've been told for a while, now?
If not, set me straight.

As for the rest of the world -- Europe, the far east -- let them deal with things on their own.
But for now -- don't ship them ANY American oil products. Let them sink or swim on their own.

If they want the oil flowing again, then it's time to "get on our boat", or swim away at their own peril.

Britain's aircraft carrier could require a French escort to the Middle East if there are not enough Royal Navy ships to do the job.

HMS Prince of Wales has been upgraded to advanced readiness, as criticism mounts over Britain's military response to the conflict with Iran.

This means the crew of the £3billion ship, currently undergoing repairs in Portsmouth, must be ready to sail with five days' notice.

Crew members have reportedly been alerted to a potential mission, but with most of the Royal Navy's warships unavailable or broken, allies such as France, the US and other European nation may be called upon to take their place.

An aircraft carrier usually needs to be accompanied by two or three warships, either destroyers or frigates, and an attack submarine - although it's understood no decision has been taken over whether to deploy the carrier, or whether it would be escorted.

The Royal Navy has six destroyers in total, but only one, HMS Dragon, is thought to be action-ready.

Iran state TV suggests Mojtaba Khamenei injured in ongoing war

Iran's state TV called Mojtaba Khamenei "Jaanbaz [injured war veteran] of Ramadan", apparently suggesting he's been wounded in the ongoing war.

It also claimed that Mojtaba is fluent in English, and has completed psychology and psychoanalysis specialized courses and is knowledgeable about modern technologies, military sciences and security affairs, as well as political principles and the country’s executive requirements.

A member of Iran's Assembly of Experts says some clerics were not informed about the in-person meeting at which Mojtaba Khamenei was named the new supreme leader and therefore could not attend despite being in the city of Qom.

Ayatollah Mohsen Heidari told state television that more than two-thirds of the body’s 88 members attended the session held in Qom on Sunday, meeting the quorum required for the vote.

“Some of the members were not informed about the meeting and could not make it to the session even though they were in the city of Qom,” Heidari said.

How do you choose a supreme leader who cannot be killed?  You pick one who is ALREADY DEAD!

Here's the shocking part: No one has seen Mojtaba Khamenei publicly since the war began.

Obviously, this is just speculation on my part, but it is very strange that no one has seen this guy and these supreme leaders tend to be very visible.

Well, the French navy certainly has experience with HAVING to escort a carrier (the CdG has been less than reliable).

I see the new defense guns being used to shoot down drones (with red tracers every 10 or so rounds). Impressive to view and seems to be pretty effective (short range) in defending bases.
