You're 100% correct, of course.
That means "regime change", or even moreso, the obliteration of the regime as it exists now.

As I posted yesterday, this is going to require a scene similar to this one:

NOTHING LESS can or will be considered "victory".

And the surrender must be followed by "an occupation" of sorts -- to determine that all nuclear facilities have been discovered, and cleaned out properly.

The occupation might also require a short rule by the U.S. Military, a la Japan post WW2.
With the subsequent selection of new "rulers" after sufficient vetting.

If you want to WIN, then you must accept the responsibilites and take proper actions AFTER you have vanquished the enemy, as above. As we did in both Europe and Japan when the war was over.

Let the Shah's son come back, perhaps as a figurehead. But MAKE IT CLEAR to him that his rule will be limited in time and restrained in force. And that any abrogation of such will result in a withdrawal of western support.

That's my opinion and I ain't changin' it.

IIRC Trump and Hegseth said this battle should be over in a couple of days. Also someone stated (my memory fails me) that this is not a 'war'.

There's not supposed to be any nation building?? So the Iranian people are on their own. There's no way to dismantle all the 'bad guys' and evilness. I'm not seeing how we're not eventually going to need to have boots on the ground over there. Maybe I'm missing something???

Don't get me wrong I stand with Trump and his actions in doing away with the Ayatollah. As Condi Rice commented, the job of completely dismantling Iran needs to be finished. I agree.

Hard to tell what the Iranians and allies are going to do next. I'm surprised at the fire power that they've displayed so far. One thing is for certain, further production of weapons needed to be stopped when the U.S. and Israel attacked them.

I'm still concerned about the sleeper cells in this country .... silently waiting ... I'm guessing there will be attacks, we just don't know when. Things are too quiet IMO for comfort.

Iran has attacked 12 countries so far since Operation Epic Fury was unleashed by the U.S. and Israel, CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper said in a Pentagon briefing Thursday.

His comments came as the military operation entered its seventh day.

“What I will point out is this is now the 12th country, that Iran has attacked 12 countries,” Cooper told reporters.

“And it goes right back to the secretary's point. Those 12 countries are none too happy," he said

“And I look forward to working with all the partners who are willing to join us in this.”

Ahead of Cooper's comments, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth had described how Iran had been targeting allied countries and “pulling them into the U.S. orbit.”

“What Iran is doing by targeting allied countries that would otherwise want to stay out of this, they've actually pulled them into the American orbit,” Hegseth explained.

“So now you've got UAE and Qatar and Bahrain and Saudi and Kuwait and others saying, hey, we're with you. Here's we'll shoot with you, we'll fly with you, we'll defend with you.”

“It's actually firming up the unity of the resistance in order to focus exactly where we need to,” he said.

Hegseth's and Cooper's remarks followed a meeting with top CENTCOM commanders on Operation Epic Fury.

Right, which is how we got all those Somalis and Haitians in the first place back in the 1990s, and then the Arabs after Kuwait, Iraq, Libya, and Syria. The son of Iran’s slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who is reportedly the favorite to succeed his despotic father in power — was treated for “impotency” so severe that he had to be hospitalized numerous times, diplomatic leaks show.

Mojtaba Khamenei, 56, underwent several stints of treatment at the Wellington and Cromwell Hospitals in London after having a hard time conceiving with his wife, US diplomatic cables published by WikiLeaks in the late 2000s showed.

The regime hardliner was reportedly so soft that he checked into the clinics at least four times — including a stay that lasted two months before he was finally able to knock up his wife.
