2026 MIDTERMS: Only 1.7% of Stanford faculty donations go to Republicans

Employee donations to federal candidates and campaign committees in the 2026 midterms cycle reconfirm the overwhelming liberal makeup of Stanford University.
Of the $666,783.29 in total employee contributions recorded in the Federal Elections Committee (FEC) database, $654,962.30 (98.23%) went to Democratic-aligned candidates and committees, while $11,820.99 (1.77%) went to Republican-aligned candidates and committees.
The dollar gap between the two totals stands at $643,141.31, meaning that Stanford-affiliated donors gave roughly 55 times more money to Democratic candidates and committees than to Republican ones.
The largest individual donor in the dataset is Eileen Donahoe, whose $183,200 in contributions accounts for approximately 27.5% of all recorded giving.
