  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
The clock is ticking toward the Midterms.

It's either get ahead of the fraud and shut it down, from the funding for these scams to the fake ballots, or the House and Senate are going to shift to the Democrats, no matter how the (real) votes go down.

Polly ticks us with:
"The SAVE act is the hill to die on."

and Joe smokes us with:
"yowsa"

Then let me ask both of you:
Should the filibuster rule be nuked in its entirety if that is "the hill" that must be climbed in order to assure passage?

That's the only possible way forward.
EVERY other way will fail.
And yes, I DO support doing away with the 60-vote rule.

If that is what must be done, yes. Simply because it IS that important, or the 'pubbies will never again have the votes in either house.

But I'd rather the Dems parked their smelly arses behind a microphone, and somewhere in the hours of tedious babble maybee they could explain why they are opposed to voter ID. (We know, I just want to hear it from them).

Agreed.

The "If we do it, the Democrats will do it next time" argument doesn't matter anymore.  They're going to do it anyway.  They don't even pretend they're not going to anymore.

My hat's off to both of you.

In this forum, I've seen again and again from the so-called conservatives re the filibuster:
Oh, we can't do that !
Oh, we can't do that !
Oh, we can't do that !
It would change everything !

Happy to see there are at least a FEW forum members who understand what "Realpolitik" is all about.

Remember what Mr. Churchill once said:
"Sometimes doing one's best is not enough. Sometimes one must do what is required."
