INGERSOLL: The Great Displacement In Virginia Could Decide The Course Of The Whole Country

Greetings, Dear Reader,

I’m generally a terminal optimist. I want to think things will hem and haw, and then maybe hem a bit too much, and the haws will take back over and right the ship.

But with what I’m seeing in Virginia? Get ready, folks.

THE GREAT DISPLACEMENT

Virginia Democrats have planned a statewide referendum with perhaps the most diabolically Orwellian question in the history of modern democracy.

“Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia’s standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?”

Obviously, relatively disengaged voters will see this question and go, “Restore fairness? Sure, I vote yes.”

So let me break down what it actually means.

Right. Restore 'fairness' by further gerrymandering becuz Texas. I gotta beat my wife harder because they guy down the street stopped, just to keep things fair in the neighborhood.

They need to be careful what they wish for. They will have to dilute the Rat vote in some districts to make others more blue. Except this is a mid-term and alot of those soft Rats won't vote and may even flip while the Pubs are more consistent. Their rush to one-up Texas might backfire.
The Republic is lost.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.

That is assuming a fair and honest election. I'm not so sure that is realistic. I suspect that because of past performance a lot of votes are baked in before the process even starts.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Depends on the margin. Approaching 10% and it becomes very difficult.
