When the tariff's are equalized and the dust is settled, do you foresee the economic destruction that you point out continuing @DB ?

I don't know. I don't know what to expect this year.

Uh, a tariff is still a tax, and everyone of these is going to end up in the same place with the Roberts Court.  There is NO work around when taxation and tariffs fall exclusevly within the purview of Congress.  This is just a bunch of gaslighting and wishful thinking.

Nope. Screwed by Trump.
?

So we are screwed by Trump in being able to get +$1 trillion in major commitments from American and foreign companies and countries to build plants and buy our products?

In only his first year.

How is that getting screwed?

Justices out of their lane strike again‼️ They should run for President.  The good news is that @POTUS
already accomplished most of what was needed—major trade improvements, agreements, and manufacturing coming back to the USA. Plus, there are other provisions he can use. Still a bad decision though.
Why run as President?

They already have lifetime tenure and act above the Executive.

That would be a demotion.

It means Trump Always Chickens Out. Which he didn't here, and actually took a bold move that got slapped down.

But hey, sometimes all they got is monkey poo, so they throw it out there and see if it sticks.
His bold move was +$trillion in commitments to build in America and buy American.

He did not get these slapped down and the tariffs will continue using other laws as he had already anticipated with today's global tariff announcement.

"Let’s be clear about today’s ruling. Despite the misplaced gloating from Democrats, ill-informed media outlets, and the very people who gutted our industrial base, the Court did not rule against President Trump’s tariffs. Six Justices simply ruled that IEEPA authorities cannot be used to raise even one dollar of revenue. This Administration will invoke alternative legal authorities to replace the IEEPA tariffs. We will be leveraging Section 232 and Section 301 tariff authorities that have been validated through thousands of legal challenges."

Meanwhile, spending levels are still based on Biden's 2024 budget, with obligatory spending increases included.  Another $2 trillion added to our national debt, all with Republicans running both houses of Congress and the White House.

Ya, it sucked. Insult to injury was the 60% tariffs on it that weren't expected. Needed enough of these specific parts to carry on for at least a few years. There are no suitable replacements even if the PCBs are relaid out to use a different part/package.

So they needed the USSC to do the job they should have been doing…

Trump will still continue to try other schemes to assist the Democrats with their midterm victory but this issue more than any other brings to light the difference between MAGA and conservatives

MAGA has no issue with more taxes placed on businesses and individuals, favor more central control, and support more money going to the federal government for more spending

Conservatives support all the opposite.

These are just the facts. And, despite the chest puffing, this ruling has discombobulated the administration judging by his unhinged reaction

Thank God….

There is actually a few conservatives left on this forum.

When Congress changes hands after the midterms , who believes Trump will VETO any Democrat spending schemes especially if they threaten impeachment

Trump raises global tariff to 15%
President Donald Trump slams high court's 'extraordinarily anti-American decision' on tariffs
By Greg Norman-Diamond Fox News
Published February 21, 2026 12:10pm EST | Updated February 21, 2026 12:48pm EST

President Donald Trump announced Saturday he is raising a global tariff to 15% following a ruling this week by the Supreme Court.

"Based on a thorough, detailed, and complete review of the ridiculous, poorly written, and extraordinarily anti-American decision on Tariffs issued yesterday, after MANY months of contemplation, by the United States Supreme Court, please let this statement serve to represent that I, as President of the United States of America, will be, effective immediately, raising the 10% Worldwide Tariff on Countries, many of which have been ‘ripping’ the U.S. off for decades, without retribution (until I came along!), to the fully allowed, and legally tested, 15% level," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"During the next short number of months, the Trump Administration will determine and issue the new and legally permissible Tariffs, which will continue our extraordinarily successful process of Making America Great Again - GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!!!" Trump added.

In a 6-3 decision on Friday, the Supreme Court rejected the president's authority to issue sweeping tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. In response, Trump announced a 10% global tariff, citing a different law.

Except the SC did no such thing.

In fact, The headlines are starting to change from "the SC stops Trump's tariffs" to:

... Supreme Court ruling removes President Trump's ability to quickly leverage tariffs

The next round of headlines, after they read the opinions, including Kavanaugh's legal blueprint for going forward, will simply be:  "Sh!t! We got nothing".

At this level of spending/printing, there is *NO* spending that benefits the nation. You could reel back HALF the Benjamins on the planet, and the Yankee buck would still be worthless.
