AOC Facing Ridicule After Series of Embarrassing Gaffes on World Stage

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is facing widespread ridicule after making a series of embarrassing gaffes in Germany that highlighted her ignorance in foreign policy.
On Friday, she spoke at the Munich Security Conference where she was questioned about the United States defending Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion.
AOC’s performance suggests she is not quite ready for the world stage.
When asked directly by Bloomberg TV’s Francine Lacqua, “Would and should the U.S. actually commit U.S. troops to defend Taiwan if China were to move?,” the congresswoman gave a halting, word-salad response filled with pregnant pauses and qualifiers to avoid a clear yes or no answer.
“Um, you know, I think that this is such a, a you know, I think that this is a um, this is of course, a ah very longstanding um policy of the United States,” she replied. “I think what we are hoping for is that we want to make sure we never get to that point and we want to make sure that we are moving in all our economic research and our global positions to avoid any such confrontation and for that question to even arise,” she added.
